Access To Information

GRNSW is required to make certain information available to the public under the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009 (NSW) (GIPA Act).

GRNSW publishes a large amount of information on its websites, including www.grnsw.com.au and www.thedogs.com.au.

If you cannot find the information you are looking for on our websites, you can ask GRNSW whether the information has already been released proactively in some other form (for example, in printed form). You can contact GRNSW by telephone (02) 8767 0500 to ask for documents you cannot locate on the websites.

If the information you are seeking is not available on this website and is not otherwise routinely provided by GRNSW on request, then you have a right to formally apply for access to specific information.

How to apply for information

To request information, complete the following form:

The Access Application Form clearly outlines the requirements to make a valid application. If your application is invalid, it will not be processed. If that happens, GRNSW will let you know and help you, if possible, by explaining how you can make a valid application.

GRNSW will acknowledge receipt of a valid application within five working days. GRNSW will notify you of a decision about your application in 20 working days, unless you agree to extend the time and subject to any extension allowed for under the GIPA Act. We may extend the processing time if we need to consult with a third party or access records from archives.

To make sure you get the information you need, please be as specific as possible. For example, if you know the date or title of the document you want, include this information on your application form.

Application fees and processing charges

The fee for making an access application is $30. Processing charges may also be imposed at a rate of $30 per hour. Certain discounts may apply, including on financial hardship and public interest grounds.

Public Access Disclosure Log

The Disclosure Log lists information GRNSW has released in response to formal access applications under the GIPA Act that may be of interest to the public. GRNSW updates its Disclosure Log each quarter.
