Application
These guidelines apply to all interactions on GRNSW websites, official social media accounts, and affiliated third-party platforms.
Purpose
The GRNSW Online Community Guidelines establishes the standards and expectations for appropriate communication across digital platforms associated with Greyhound Racing NSW - to promote respectful, professional, and secure communication that upholds the integrity of the greyhound racing industry.
Guidelines
Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) is committed to fostering respectful, inclusive, and constructive dialogue across all our online platforms. Online communities - including GRNSW websites, official social media accounts, and any affiliated third-party platforms - exist to support positive engagement and the responsible discussion of issues relevant to the greyhound racing industry.
While we welcome the exchange of diverse perspectives and healthy debate, all users engaging with GRNSW associated online platforms are expected to interact in a respectful and courteous manner at all times.

Expectations for Participant Conduct
Participants must:
• Engage in a businesslike, thoughtful, and civil manner - even when disagreeing with others;
• Treat fellow community members, GRNSW staff, and the broader public with courtesy and professionalism;
• Avoid entering into lengthy or unconstructive exchanges, particularly with individuals displaying aggressive or hostile behaviour;
• Avoid personal attacks, inflammatory remarks, or trolling;
• Stay on topic and contribute to meaningful discussions;
• Refrain from amplifying or engaging with trolling, including quoting or reposting abusive or inflammatory content, even to criticise it;
• Ensure comments are not detrimental to the interest, welfare, or image of greyhound racing;
• Use factually accurate information and avoid spreading misinformation or misleading claims; and
• Clearly identify themselves when posting in a professional capacity to avoid misrepresentation.
Remember it’s okay to disagree - but it must be done respectfully and without targeting others personally.
Moderation and Content Management
GRNSW reserves the right to moderate, remove, or refuse to publish any content that does not meet the standards of these guidelines or is otherwise unsuitable for legal, editorial, or operational reasons.
This includes but is not limited to content that:
• Is defamatory, unlawful, harassing, discriminatory, vilifying, or obscene - e.g. using abusive, offensive, harassing, or defamatory language;
• Breaches applicable legislation, including those related to privacy, contempt, and anti-discrimination e.g. racist, sexist, homophobic, or otherwise discriminatory remarks;
• Contains misinformation or misleading claims or is a misrepresentation of an identity or authority;
• Infringes intellectual property rights, including copyright;
• Discloses personal or sensitive information about others without consent;
• Contains spam, harmful links, or unrelated advertising – e.g. links advertising unrelated commercial products or services / soliciting donations or fundraising without prior written approval / comments asking to send friend requests;
• Seeks to provoke or antagonise other participants;
• Includes comments or images that are deemed to show hate, bullying, or abuse;
• Includes images (e.g. GIFs / emojis) that are deemed to show hate, bullying, or abuse; and
• Relates to ongoing legal proceedings, stewards’ inquiries, or appeals that could prejudice proceedings
GRNSW reserves the right to restrict or block any account that breaches these guidelines. We may also disable comments or other interactive features at our discretion if a post attracts content that is abusive, unlawful, or otherwise inconsistent with our community standards.
Compliance
By participating in any GRNSW online community, individuals agree to abide by these guidelines. Continued engagement is contingent on compliance with these standards and the broader expectations of respectful conduct in the greyhound racing industry.
Breach of these Guidelines.
A breach of the GRNSW Public Comments Policy and Guidelines may result in content removal, suspension, or removal of access to GRNSW online platforms. In serious cases, comments or messages may be referred to the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission (GWIC), or to the appropriate individual or authority for further action.
Departures from GRNSW Public Comments Policy and these Guidelines
GRNSW may depart from the procedures set out in this policy, where doing so is appropriate to particular circumstances and/or GRNSW’s operational needs.
Amendments to, and operation of, the GRNSW Digital Communication Guidelines.
These guidelines will be reviewed annually, however, GRNSW reserves the right to amend these guidelines at any time.
