ADAM CASSELDEN
Chairman
Adam Casselden Senior Counsel was appointed Chair of GRNSW in 2023. In addition to being the Chair of GRNSW,  Adam represents as a member on the GRNSW Remuneration, Legal, Finance and Risk, Track and Infrastructure, and Animal Welfare Committees.

Adam advises and appears in the areas of Commercial Law, Common Law and Transportation Law. He is highly regarded in Inquests and Sports Law. Adam appears in the Supreme Court, the Federal Court, the District Court, the Coroner’s Court and various Tribunals.

Adam’s clients have included Australia’s leading Banks and Insurers, State and Commonwealth Departments and Agencies, ASX-listed Companies, Domestic and International Shipping Lines and Airlines, and Small to Medium Enterprises. In the field of Coronial Law, Adam appears as Counsel Assisting the Coroner in complex and high-profile Inquests. Adam also appears in the Coroner’s Court for interested parties, including for Families and Government Departments.

Adam has acted as legal counsel for Australian Rugby Union, Football Federation of Australia, NSW Rugby Union, Western Sydney Wanderers FC, Central Coast Mariners FC, Department of Sport & Recreation and NRL players. Adam is a SANZAAR Judicial Officer for Super Rugby and The Rugby Championship, and in 2015 Adam was appointed by World Rugby as a Judicial Officer to the Rugby World Cup in England and Wales.

He has been appointed by The NSW Minister for Sport and Recreation to sit on the Combat Sports Authority and in 2016 Adam was appointed to sit on a number of National Sporting Federation Olympic Appeals Tribunals.
REBEKAH GILES
Deputy Chair
Rebekah Giles is the founder of Giles George, a boutique law firm dedicated solely to reputational risk.

Recognised by a range of legal directories for her expertise, she specialises in defamation, media, privacy, employment and sports law.

In addition to being the Deputy Chair of GRNSW,  Rebekah is also the Chair of the Remuneration Committee, and member of the Legal Sub-Committee. She has held a range of board roles with GWS Giants, and the Centennial Parklands Foundation, making her highly skilled in corporate governance.

She is a member of AICD and an Ambassador for the Fertility Research Clinic at the Royal Hospital for Women.

In 2018, she was named in the AFR’s 100 Women of Influence for the category of Boards and Management.
She is the Chair of the not-for-profit organisation, Frontrunners and a board member of the ASX listed entity, Betmakers.
GREG JOHNSON
Director
Greg has more than 30 years experience in the funds management industry. He has held senior Capital Raising and client relationship roles at Macquarie, Perpetual, and Dimensional, and has led Operations and Client Service teams at Deutsche Bank, Credit Suisse and Macquarie Funds Management.

From 2011 to 2019 he was a partner in Apostle Funds Management, and more recently assisted a Sydney-based Funds Manager with their efforts in the Institutional market on a part-time basis.

Greg is an experienced Director, and has served as an Executive Director of Apostle Funds Management and a Non-Executive Chairman of ASX-listed Gladiator Resources.

He is currently a Non-Executive Director for the South Sydney Rabbitohs Member Co and Greyhound Racing New South Wales, and is also on the Board of ASX-listed Mayfield Childcare.

He has received Directorship qualifications with and is an active member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
LOUISE WAKEFIELD
Director
Louise Wakefield is a seasoned executive leader with extensive experience in industry development, governance, and business strategy.

She joined GRNSW as a Non-Executive Director in September 2023 and currently serves on a number of our committees.

In addition to her role at GRNSW, she is the Chair of Southern Tablelands Arts, following four years on its board.

As Executive General Manager at Industry Capability Network, Louise brings strong leadership and stakeholder engagement expertise.

She is also the Founder of LeadSpace and a dedicated mentor and coach. Louise holds an Executive MBA, further strengthening her expertise in business leadership and organisational transformation.

KEVIN GORDON
Director
Kevin has over 33 years of experience participating in the greyhound racing industry at various levels and as a Director of Greyhound Racing NSW for the last six years.

He has shown a deep commitment to the industry and board and as an industry representative, has taken great pride in acting on behalf of the industry’s hard-working participants to ensure heightened prizemoney, safer tracks and improved welfare measures.

Kevin's establishment and development of a successful multi-million dollar Australian-based manufacturing enterprise that has expanded during a period of significant and sustained domestic downturn in the engineering and production sector demonstrates great commercial business acumen.

Kevin has served as Chair of the Tracks, Racing & Infrastructure Committee (TRIC) and the Animal Welfare Committee (AWC) continuing a strong commitment to governance, industry integrity, and the continued development of a sustainable greyhound racing sector in New South Wales. 

Through his active involvement Kevin has engaged with diverse stakeholder groups relating to the expansion of commercial opportunities, the development of strategies to implement positive changes across the industry, and the improvement of outcomes that recognise stakeholder expectations around social responsibility. 

He assumed responsibility for negotiations and engaged directly with Ladbrokes CEO, Dean Shannon, to secure the continuation of GRNSW’s $19 million sponsorship agreement during a time of considerable uncertainty, negotiations which ultimately delivered a successful outcome for the industry.

STEVE GRIFFIN
Chief Executive Officer
Steve was previously the Chief Executive Officer of the NSW Greyhound Welfare & Integrity Commission (GWIC) where he led the implementation of eTrac, a World’s first whole-of-life electronic tracking system for greyhounds. 

Early in his career spent 13 years as a Detective Senior Sergeant with the NSW Police Force, with postings to the Drug Enforcement Agency, Organised Crime Unit and Internal Affairs.

Steve had over thirty years’ experience working in senior executive roles within government responsible for the delivery of government regulatory services and transformational change. As Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Service NSW, he led an innovative redesign of the way customers of Government access services.

Before joining GWIC Steve was the Chief Executive Officer and first Building Commissioner in Queensland.

Steve’s career demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement, organisational change and an ability to deliver results. Steve has a proven track record and is a recognised expertise in leading and delivering transformational change.



NICK SANTUCCI
Chief Operations Officer
Nick Santucci comes to GRNSW from Tabcorp where he was the General Manager, Industry Affairs.

Prior to Tabcorp, Nick worked as Group Manager, Business Development, at The Star Entertainment Group following periods of working as advisor to a number of NSW Government Ministers.

Nick is a qualified lawyer who practiced for a number of years at Clayton Utz.

Nick’s expertise and experience in wagering and working within a government operating environment will be invaluable as he leads the work to settle new broadcast right agreements along with other key industry sustainability projects.
 
BRIAN CHARMAN
Chief Racing Officer
Brian Charman comes to GRNSW from Racing NSW where he was General Manager of welfare and operations.

Prior to that role he had almost a decade overseeing regional thoroughbred racing clubs across NSW, particularly in the role of Executive Officer of Country Racing NSW, and prior to those twenty years as a certified practicing accountant whilst having Board member role experience with a thoroughbred racing club.

Brian comes from a thoroughbred racing family that was involved with greyhounds for many years, and his experience and expertise aligns perfectly with GRNSW’s desire to work closely with racing clubs to deliver the best racing product possible and returns to participants.
 
MARK SLATER
Chief Welfare Officer
Mark comes from a strong animal welfare background having been the CEO of the NSW Animal Welfare league for five years.

During his tenure at AWLNSW, Mark designed and built the first and only B-Double mobile vet clinic in the world, was deployed by government in 2019 -2020 bushfires as a frontline welfare provider for animals, deployed to 2022 Lismore floods to lead animal recovery efforts and as a consequence was awarded the National Emergency Medal by the Governor General.

Mark then moved into the native animal space and worked nationally with renown organisations and government to both develop native animal recovery and care curricula with First Nations People’s as well as worked on the re-introduction and relocation of critically endangered native species.

Mark has also advised State and Federal governments on welfare and bio-security issues for primary production, companion and native animals inclusive of pre-emptive and recovery measures.

JOY EDWARDS
Chief Corporate Services Officer
Joy has extensive corporate service background in Australia and internationally.

Joy has been with the organisation since late 2024 and during this time has delivered a substantial uplift in people, culture, systems and governance programs.

With a sound skill set and strong investment in our people, this has positioned her well in the continuous improvement and organisational development we seek to serve our industry.

Joy holds a Masters of Business Adminstration, Graduate Certificate in Human Resources, qualified Myers Briggs profile assessor, and TAE certified.
