Zipping Caleb, brilliant winner of the Zoom Top Maiden Classic at Goulburn a month ago, failed at his only Wentworth Park start and missed a place at his most recent outing at Richmond but is set to bounce back at headquarters on Saturday night.
Zipping Caleb has box six in the Equalizer At Stud Stakes, a 520m fifth grade, and faces far weaker opposition than the lineup he trounced at Goulburn.
Mario Wave, an impressive all-the-way winner at Wentworth Park on Wednesday night, chased Zipping Caleb home at Goulburn while in the same Irinka Daniel, who produced an outstanding winning performance at Wenty on Wednesday, wound up sixth, 10 lengths behind the winner.
Minnie Finn, whose husband John trains Zipping Caleb, said: "I guess he has been a bit disappointing but he has trialled fast at Wenty so there is no reason why he can't win on Saturday.''
Sure As Oak, who caused a boilover by taking out the Free-For-All as a $16 outsider at Wentworth Park on August 23, drops to fifth grade in Saturday's Ladbrokes Bet Ticker Stakes, 520m.
While Sure As Oak had box seven when he came from second early and hit the front on the back straight in his long-priced Wenty win, trainer Alex Anderson is happy seeing his dog in box two on Saturday night.
"He has a good record from the two, he has won four of his five races from that box,'' Anderson said.
"Sure As Oak was harshly graded when he won at Wenty even though no rules were broken, he was a winner of nine previous races so he was entitled to be in it.
"But he is certainly down in class on Saturday night.''
Tarawi Indi, who ran her rivals off their legs in an all-the-way win from box one on Wednesday night, will back up in Saturday's Ladbrokes Sports Bar Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.
Tarawi Indi reeled off a brilliant opening split of 5.39 on her way to a 30.06 on Wednesday but goes from box six on Saturday.
Trainer David Smith said: "Although Wednesday's was her first race at Wentworth Park she had plenty of trialling experience there.
"Early on I had my doubts about whether she would run a strong 520m because while she always showed good early pace, a couple of her trials were in slow times of 30.64 and 30.42.
"But she has got stronger without losing any of her early zip.''
Smith has a great chance of landing a double as Sublime Ethics, unplaced behind Palawa King, One Hot Bandit and Can't Handle It in Wednesday's Free-For-All, drops to fifth grade in Saturday's Aiden Walsh's Bucks Party Stakes, 520m.
"Sublime Ethics had box two on Wednesday and she is no good from inside draws,'' David Smith said.
"She has box seven on Saturday and that will suit her, she won from that draw at Wentworth Park on August 30.''
Boom Hunter Valley sprinter Ezra Man, who has won five of six provincial starts including his past four in succession, makes his eagerly anticipated Wentworth Park debut in Saturday's wentworthpark.com.au Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.
The Brett May-trained flyer began smartly from box four and led all the way to win over 515m at Ladbrokes Gardens at his latest appearance on August 26, clocking a fastest time of the night 29.46.
