Hilde, sold as a youngster from Sydney "for a few thousand dollars" will take her earnings over the $100,000 mark if she can win Friday's group 3 Ladbrokes Casino Cup final.

Trained in Queensland by Darren Russell, Hilde led throughout from box five to win her heat in 27.31, while fastest qualifier, the Craig Gardoll-trained Spirit Boy, covered the 484m in 27.15.

"I would rather box one than box five but even so, I'm unsure how she will handle the rails alley,'' Russell said.

"She railed well when she crossed and led from box five in her heat but I'm not certain from box one whether she will cope with any pressure she gets from dogs on her outside.

"Last time she drew the one was in a heat of the Ipswich Cup and Hilde got chopped off at the first turn.

"But when I got her she had one win, up the straight at Richmond, from five starts, and she has since won 15 from 34 races and over $75,000, so the owner is happy.''

Sydney trainer Luke Azzopardi bred Hilde from the first litter whelped by his bitch Mrs Emgrand, to Pindari Express in January, 2021.

"Mrs Emgrand has had three litters and while she has not thrown any champions she had produced handy performers from each,'' Azzopardi said.

One Hot Bandit won over $200,000 after winning 18 races for leading Sydney trainers Jodie and Andy Lord but has collected another $54,000 after taking out Thursday's New Zealand Cup at Addington.

Now trained at Amberley, 50km from Christchurch by Dave and Jean Fahey, One Hot Bandit remains owned by Australia's Punters HQ Syndicate, managed by Joe Lannutti.

One Hot Bandit's success gave the Faheys their 11th win in NZ's biggest sprint race while Punters HQ also raced the mighty She's A Pearl, who was also trained here by Jodie and Andy Lord.

"One Hot Bandit raced erratically a couple of times here so Andy suggested we send him to New Zealand where the finish-on style of racing transforms so many wayward greyhounds into good chasers,'' Lannutti said.

"Over the past seven years we have sent around 200 erratic dogs to NZ and 99 per cent of them have been rejuvenated and become successful racers.

"One Hot Bandit had only been in NZ a month when he won the Cup and his heat win was his first 525m race in four months.''

Noelene Holloway is claiming a NSW record number of wins for her March, 2020, litter whelped by her bitch Fascinate Mary to Michael Eberand's stud dog Aussie Infrared.

When Quick Shadow notched his 53rd win for owner-trainer Kathleen Reynolds at Darwin's Winnellie Park on November 10 it took the litter to 182 victories.

Quick Shadow's siblings are Fascinate Mel (30 wins), Fascinate Trump and Fascinate Donald (22 each), Super Aussie (17), Fascinate Aussie (16), Super Edition (13) and Fascinate Model (nine wins).
