Unbothered will be Steve Sealey's first starter in a 520m race at Wentworth Park but the Thirlmere hobby trainer gives his dog a great chance of continuing his fine Bulli form by winning Saturday night's Drown Ball Chase.

Unbothered has not been out of the prizemoney in 10 Goulburn and Bulli races, scoring four wins, five seconds and a third.

And while the dog has not raced beyond 400m, Sealey is confident the 520m of Saturday's fifth grade will be no problem for Unbothered.

An unexpected error occurred.

"He has had a few trials around Wenty so knows his way around there and I believe he will relish going over 520m,'' Sealey said.

"About 30 years ago I won a couple of 720m races at WP with a bitch called Sweet Cherokee and I have won a 280m race there but Unbothered will be my first runner in a 520m event.

"He has been racing against some good dogs at Bulli and acquitting himself well and I think box eight will suit him perfectly.

"Once Unbothered reaches the catching pen after going around the first turn he will rail but until then he should run straight.

"Unbothered is still learning but if he comes out cleanly he should run a big race.''

Let's Trot Fox's only WP placing was a second behind Totally Emgrand in February but the dog has won three of his past five starts at The Gardens and trainer Dale Wright believes he can break through for a city win on Saturday.

Let's Trot Fox, who has won four of his eight starts wearing the red rug, has box one in the Ladbrokes Blackbook Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.

"He has won 11 races which is a far cry from how he was after he was broken in,'' Wright said.

"He refused to even go around after the lure so he has improved out of sight.

"Two successive wins over 400m at The Gardens earlier this month seem to have done wonders for Let's Trot Fox's confidence.

"Let's Trot Fox has developed into a honest chaser and his three recent wins have been from boxes one and two.

"He needs to get to the first turn on Saturday night without being touched but if that happens he has a great chance.''

Hardest for Let's Trot Fox to beat should be Spring Eureka, who had also been racing without confidence at WP until winning there on October 3 and again on November 14.

Best bet on Saturday looms as First Lady, placed in four of her past five starts, in the NSW GBOTA Welcome Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.

First Lady's best WP 520m time of 29.66 is clearly the quickest of the runners in this race, and she looks well positioned in box seven.

An unexpected error occurred.

Trained by Garry Frazer, who combines thoroughbreds with greyhounds, First Lady has an abundance of early pace, is at home from a wide draw and has had two wins and three placings from six outings wearing the black rug.

Saturday's top grade 520m race could see Omega Travis back in the winning list at WP for the first time since August.

Omega Travis has a good record of two wins from three starts from box seven, his draw on Saturday, and he was unlucky not to finish closer to the winner when third, beaten eight lengths, by Gets Late Early at WP on November 14.

Omega Travis was badly checked going through the catching pen and came from a distant fifth on the back straight to snare the minor prizemoney.
