Unbeaten boom youngster Gold Force will be a warm favourite to make a successful Wentworth Park debut on Saturday night but trainer Denice Warren has urged punters not to expect "too much" of her giant 39.5kg greyhound.
After three wins in sizzling times over 350m and 440m at Goulburn, Gold Force makes his eagerly anticipated first Wentworth Park appearance in Saturday's NSW GBOTA Welcome Stakes, a 520m one to three wins fifth grade.
An unexpected error occurred.
Denice Warren said: "Gold Force has been well schooled at Wentworth Park, having had a hand-slip from the water meter, another from winning post to winning post, and then a trial from the 520m boxes.
"He only clocked 30.14 in the trial because he is still learning how to handle the first turn at Wenty.
"On Saturday Gold Force is not well positioned in three because he takes a step to the right when he leaves the boxes.
"But while he is not a brilliant beginner he does must pace very quickly.
''Gold Force was educated around Dapto so there is no reason why he won't eventually handle Wentworth Park as comforably as he does Goulburn.''
Gold Force is among the first greyhounds raced by famous harness racing owner Michael Boots, whose pacer Swayzee is a star on both sides of the Tasman and took out the 2023 New Zealand Cup.
Boots also races the Denice Warren-trained greyhounds Saint Omagh and Dark Asset, who have won three and four races respectively.
It was only natural that when Boots sought to find a greyhound trainer he should choose Warren, as her late father Frank Day was a harness racing legend who won Miracle Miles with Friendly Footman and Gundary Flyer in 1981 and 1982.
Consecutive scorching 472m wins at Bulli will have Zipping Grinch an odds-on favourite for Saturday night's Ladbrokes Odds Surge Stakes, a one to three wins 520m fifth grade.
An unexpected error occurred.
But the Jason Magri-trained flyer, who won from box one in 30.13 on debut at Wentworth Park and has recorded 26.08 and 25.90 from inside draws at Bulli at his past two recent starts, won't be able to afford any mistakes.
Wentworth Park newcomer Zipping Pfeiffer, who had a win and a second in Victoria before being sold to clients of NSW trainer Joe McFadyen, trialled brilliantly at Wentworth Park last week.
"Zipping Pfeiffer won first-up for me at The Gardens on November 15 when she was having her first run out of the 515m boxes there,'' McFadyen said.
"So I took her to Wenty last week and was pleasantly surprised when she covered the 520m in 29.67.
"What was especially encouraging was her nippy first split of 5.47, because on her performance at The Gardens I didn't think she would go much quicker than 5.50 or a bit worse.
"Zipping Pfeiffer is owned by Trent Freeman and Jerome Ballard, and they bought her from Marty and Camo Hallinan after she had won at Ballarat in October.
"Jerome is on a real high at present as he went 40 years without owning a Wenty winner until Ali Tango, which I train for him, won in March, and then another of his dog, his kennelmate Screeching, was successful there in July.
"They have now won 27 races between them but Zipping Pfeiffer looks like being an excellent purchase.
"Even from a breeding viewpoint she is valuable because Zipping Pfeiffer is a half sister Zipping Remus, who won the 2023 group one Vic Peters Classic at Wentworth Park in race record time of 29.33.''
None of his rivals in Saturday's Ladbrokes Sports Bar 520m fifth grade has matched Spring Eureka's best Wentworth Park time of 29.71 and he can win despite his slightly disappointing seventh at Wentworth Park last Saturday.
He was sent out a $3 favourite but missed the jump and after colliding on the back straight was never a chance.
An unexpected error occurred.
Spring Eureka led all the way to win in 29.71 at Wentworth Park on November 14 and trainer Scott Board said: "He just needs a bit of clear air early.
"Spring Eureka doesn't like being crowded but if he can lead he can really run.
"And he gets to the line well too because when he won on November 14 his run home time was 11.69.''
Spring Eureka looks Saturday's best value bet from his suitable box two draw while Ayden's Warrior appeals as the night's stand-out wager despite having box five in 520m Ladbrokes Bet Ticker Final.
An unexpected error occurred.
Ayden's Warrior has won his past three Wentworth Park starts, his past two in 29.58 and 29.49, while his personal best 29.39 surasses each of his rivals' quickest figures.
