Paw Vera and Paw Zeva had won just two of 19 starts in Victoria but both were able to score first-up for their new trainers Wayne White and his son Jake at Richmond on Friday.

Paw Vera rocketed over the 320m in 17.95, just .12sec outside the track record, and was part of a winning quartet for Goulburn's White family.

Springview Hawk, who turned five on early this month, notched his 14th win while Oscar Ville, who won over 320m in slow time, rounded out the "quadrella" for the Whites.

Jake White, 28, who performs race night duties for the family, said: "We won a few trebles last year but this is the first time we have won four races at the same meeting.

"I have a property maintenance business so training greyhounds is a true family affair, with my dad Wayne and mum Julie taking care of the dogs while I'm at work.

"Dad has trained greyhounds since he was a teenager so I was born into the sport.

"We haven't had Paw Vera and Paw Zeva for long since their owner Mark Latham bought them from the Wheeler family.

"They weren't going to be nominated for a while but they had been trialling so well we decided to put them in at Richmond and Paw Vera especially has a bright future.

"Although she only won over 320m on Friday, she has won over 460m at Geelong so I'm confident she will get 520m.''

Owner Mark Latham, a salesman from Newcastle, bought his first greyhound eight years ago and has since taken immense pleasure through involving family and friends in his purchases.

"I always buy performed greyhounds and among the best I have had would be First Rule, who was a finalist in a Group 2 race in WA a couple of years back for his trainer Pete Brown,'' Latham said.

"Paw Vera and Paw Zeva, my winners on Friday night, were inexpensive to buy but have shown ability from the moment they came into the White family's kennels.

"I bought them because in their Victorian races they displayed early pace, including clocking first splits of 5.10 and 5.15 at The Meadows.

"On Friday at Richmond I had friends from Coffs Harbour, Newcastle and Bathurst cheering for Paw Vera and Paw Zeva, and that is one of the great things about this sport.

"It can be shared by so many people for not a lot of money but at the same time I have enormous respect for the trainers who spend so much time driving to trial tracks and race meetings.

"I hope Paw Vera or Paw Zeva can win at Wentworth Park because to me, that is our most essential track, there is always something special about winning a race there.''
