Ultimate Ethics (pictured) won his maiden race at Wentworth Park last Thursday in a moderate 30.25 but trainer Peter Rodgers expects him to go much quicker this week.
Ultimate Ethics has box one in the Ladbrokes Blackbook Stakes, a 520m fifth grade, after coming from box seven in last Thursday's win at his Wentworth Park debut.
An unexpected error occurred.
Last week Ultimate Ethics veered left at box rise but once he found the rails he was too strong for his rivals and won by four lengths.
"He is a much quicker greyhound than a 30.25 dog and has trialled 29.80 at Wentworth Park,'' Rodgers said.
"Ultimate Ethics just needs to be left alone in the early stages because he is very strong and has run home in 11.37 at Wentworth Park.''
Starry Ethics, a litter sister and kennelmate of Ultimate Ethics, has box one in Thursday's Ladbrokes Sports Bar Stakes, a 520m fifth grade, but Rodgers is less than confident about her chances.
"She has early pace and I expect her to lead for a long way but she could be found wanting at the finish,'' Rodgers said.
An unexpected error occurred.
Victorian-owned Teonna is unbeaten after two NSW appearances for new trainer Darren Sultana and has drawn box one for her Wentworth Park debut in Thursday's Equalizer @ Stud Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.
An unexpected error occurred.
Teonna led throughout over 440m at Goulburn on January 24, winning by 10 lengths in a slick 24.65, before leading all the way for a two lengths win in a smart 24.59 over the same course a week later.
Sultana is quietly confident Teonna will see out the 520m at Wentworth Park but due to circumstances beyond his control admits she could be short of a run on Thursday.
"I gave her a box-to-box trial at Wenty so she has seen the track but I intended to give her a post-to-post slip there on Monday night.
"However the trials were cancelled so she was left without a hit-out.
"Teonna has won over 515m at Sandown and 525m at The Meadows so the distance wouldn't really be a problem.
"And in her last win at Goulburn a strong dog called Saint Omagh, who has won at Wentworth Park, got right behind her in the early stages.
"When I saw where Saint Omagh was I thought he might run her down but she won comfortably.''
Jason Magri was her trainer when Zipping Mitzy won her first four starts, including a Bulli 472m maiden win in record time and a fast 29.68 on debut at Wentworth Park so it's only fitting he should be preparing her son Zipping Ragnar for his race debut on Thursday night.
Zipping Ragnar, a 21 month old son of Feral Franky and Zipping Mitzy, has box one in the 520m NSW GBOTA Welcome Maiden Stakes.
An unexpected error occurred.
While Zipping Mitzy showed brilliant early pace winning her Bulli maiden in 26.03, Magri said: "Her son doesn't have anywhere the zip she possessed.
"In trials he has been a bit tardy out of the boxes but he does have ability and is very strong at the finish.''
In 11 races Ritza Duane has only drawn boxes one, two, three or four but trainer Mark Gatt is not concerned about his wide box eight draw in Thursday's Farrell's 4 X 2 520m fifth grade at Wentworth Park on Thursday night.
An unexpected error occurred.
Ritza Duane has recorded three wins and three seconds from nine Wentworth Park appearances and came from fourth early when he won last Thursday in 30.08 after exiting box one.
