She's That Girl, as a May 18, 2023 whelping, was the youngest greyhound to contest Saturday night's Group 3 Simply Limelight New Sensation series but she showed remarkable maturity to win heat three easily in a scorching 29.23.

Those figures were .13sec quicker than the fastest time ever recorded in a New Sensation final, bettering the 29.36 race record achieved by Victoria's Hooksy in 2014.

Trained by dual Million Dollar Chase winner Peter Lagogiane, She's That Girl outsped arch-rival Honk Honk, who had won in 29.19 a week earlier, in the charge to the first turn and defeated that greyhound by two-and-a-half lengths.

Second fastest heat time was posted by Jason Magri's brilliant beginner Canya Sapphire, who led throughout to defeat Sweet Bee by five lengths in 29.47.

Sweet Bee's trainer Michelle Sultana prepared Fear The Dragon, runner-up to Good Odds Cobber in last year's final.

Veteran trainer Vic Sultana and owner Chenhao "Vincent" Sun combined to win 25 races with the brilliant front-runner Sky Wave from 2017 to 2019 and they now have a finalist in the New Sensation following the brilliant all-the-way heat win by her daughter Black Myth Wave on Saturday night.

Black Myth Wave led throughout from box one to win the opening heat at Wentworth Park by three lengths in a slick 29.50, taking her record to 11 wins from just 16 starts.

Secret Getaway ended a long run of outs at Wentworth Park for veteran trainer Stuart Hazlett with his all-the-way win, his first in 14 attempts at headquarters, on Saturday night.

Secret Getaway had been placed in just three of his previous 13 Wentworth Park appearances but Hazlett gave the dog a good chance at big odds on Saturday night.

"It looked a quiet field and because Secret Getaway had previously clocked 30.13 at Wenty, I had a small bet on him at $15.

"Someone else must have given him a chance too because he firmed up to $9.50.

"Key to his win was that he nailed the start and led all the way. Usually he stuffs up the start and then wants to crash to the left.

"When he ran fourth to Dam Slithery at his previous Wentworth Park start on March 1 he missed the jump and then kept running into other dogs.

"I bred Secret Getaway from a bitch called Getaway Driver, who was well bred but did not produce anything special in two litters to Fernando Bale and Feral Franky.

"As a result I gave her away as a pet and she now has a new home sitting on somebody's lounge.''

Hazlett is a former Greyhound Recorder journalist who hit the ground running with Neat Fawn, the first greyhound he bought as a 19-year-old teenager, winning his maiden race in track record time at Wyong in 1965.

Jumping in front was also the reason Spring Eureka was able to score a $21 upset win on Saturday night, when he began fast from box four and led throughout in 29.98.

The dog had been unplaced in four Wentworth Park outings since winning in 29.92 on February 6 but trainer Scott Board said: "If he doesn't lead he finds it hard to win.

"Spring Eureka had fell over at his second start at Wentworth Park in October, 2023, and since then he seems to be frightened of other dogs.

"He is not up to Golden Easter Egg class but I might be tempted to put him in that race because after tonight's win, his fifth at Wenty, he will be a fourth grade greyhound.

"Although he rarely comes from behind to win, I can't complain because tonight's success takes his earnings to over $63,000.''

Dual Sandown Shootout winner Big Energy, with Sydney trainer Jodie Lord for the March 29 heats of the Group 1 Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg, scored a runaway win at his Wentworth Park debut on Saturday night.

Big Energy was sent out a long odds-on favourite from box one and after trailing Solo Fernando to the back straight, took over soon after to win easily in 29.65.

While Big Energy's appearance in a Masters race raised some eyebrows, Andy Lord, husband of the dog's Sydney trainer said: "He was eligible for the event and he was actually the second oldest dog in the field.''

Saturday's win took Big Energy's prizemoney to more than $623,000.

In Saturday's top grade 520m event, virtually a dress rehearsal for the March 29 Easter Egg heats, Kisses For Gran trounced Richmond Derby winner Ferness and Peter Mosman Opal victor Tulsi Banner.

After disputing the early lead with Overflow Jill, the Jason Mackay-trained Kisses For Gran took control at the first turn and won by 10 lengths in a scorching 29.31.
