Bianca's Draw Ideal

Bianca's Boy is ideally boxed in Thursday night's 520m fifth grade at Wentworth Park, and if he wins it will provide a richly deserved success for his veteran trainer Ray Sims.

Sims has made the nine to 10 hours round trip with Bianca's Boy from his kennels at Illabo, near Wagga, twice recently, and on each occasion the Wentworth Park meeting has had to be cancelled after he arrived in Sydney.

"When Bianca's Boy finished second at his most recent Wentworth Park start on May 8 my son Peter Sims brought him to the track,'' Ray Sims explained.

"But the time before that I brought the dog and racing was cancelled. Then, since his last race there, Bianca's Boy was in again at Wentworth Park but the meeting was cancelled again.

"Bianca's Boy has not raced or trialled since finishing a close second to Cumbria Benny at Wentworth Park on May 8 but he is fit and ready to go on Thursday.

"I rarely trial him, he keeps fit through me riding a quad bike up and down my straight track, with Bianca's Boy running alongside me.

"He is not with me for long though as he soon zooms ahead.

"The exercise keeps him at his peak because my straight is a 320m uphill run on sand, and Bianca's Boy goes back and forth three times a week, covering around 800m each day.

"He loves to work and on top of all that he is on the walking machine at full speed every morning so he could not be fitter.''

Bianca's Boy

Bianca's Boy's personal best Wentworth Park 520m time is far and away the quickest of the dogs in Thursday's Follow RPV On Facebook Stakes, and with Written In Gold, who tends to use a bit of the track, drawn outside him in box two, he looks the winner.

Blue Linkin is unbeaten in two races wearing the red rug but trainer Ken Burnett concedes his dog will need to do everything right if he is to maintain that flawless record in Thursday's Ladbrokes Odds Surge Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.

"This is a strong field and with trainer Mark Gatt having a couple of starters, his dogs are always hard to toss,'' Burnett said.

"Blue Linkin led all the way from box one to win over 520m at Dapto on May 15 in 29.97, best time of the meeting, but this is a harder race.

"If he is going to win Blue Linkin will need to make full use of the box.

"He will have to jump cleanly and show his customary early pace.''

Burnett will be hoping for a change of luck as his Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg winner Power And Glory has had a setback and will be sidelined for the next two months.

Best value at Wentworth Park on Thursday looks to be Sovereign Reign, who "came out running" to win on debut at headquarters last Thursday night.

Sovereign Reign covered the 520m in 29.90, slick time for an unraced maiden, and clocked a nippy 13.90 for his second split before running home in a respectable 11.86.

He had box one last week and has drawn suitably in box two in Thursday's Ladbrokes Punter Assist one win fifth grade.

Highlight of Thursday's Wentworth Park card is the initial appearance of a member of the first litter whelped by the great She's A Pearl.

Black Axe Bandit, sired by Fernando Bale and trained by She's A Pearl's trainer Jodie Lord, has box eight in the 520m Tristan Triffitt Exclusive Maiden Stakes, 520m.

Jodie Lord's husband Andy said: "This pup has a stack of ability, knows his way around Wentworth Park through trialling, and we expect him to go close to winning.

"We are confident he will handle his box eight draw, although Starry Ethics, who finished second from box six at his first Wenty race last week, has box one this time so will be hard to beat.''

Black Axe Bandit's litter sister and kennelmate She's Fearless is set to make her debut at Dapto on Thursday.
