Mickayla Swift was Andrew Katalinic's first Wentworth Park 720m starter in his five years as a trainer, and she gave him a debut to remember when she scored one of the easiest wins seen at headquarters on Saturday night.
The former Victorian jumped in front from box four and gradually increased her winning margin before careering to the finish line 20 lengths clear of runner-up Go Jo Jo.
Mickayla Swift covered the 720m in a slick 42.20, excellent figures for a greyhound having her first start at Wentworth Park.
"She is owned by Jason Grice, who raced the former champion pacer Explosive Ego,'' Katalinic said later.
"Jason bought her from Victoria due to her impeccable breeding, as she is a half sister to the former champion stayer Valpolicella.
"He bought her to breed from and told me if we won a race at Wenty with her that would be a bonus.
"Mickayla Swift was no slouch in Victoria as she was reserve for a group final down there and also ran a smart 34.09 over 595m at Sandown.
"I'll just take her through her grades at Wentworth Park now, I won't be throwing her into the deep end.''
Simply The Best, bought as a three-month-old puppy for just $2,000, scored his first Wentworth Park win for owner-trainer Tony Pagano on Saturday night.
The dog had been placed in four of 13 previous Wentworth Park appearances but is now in slashing form and had won three successive races over 320m at Richmond before Saturday's city success.
"I bought him from his breeder John Callaughan, and he sold him to me for a bargain price because we are good friends,'' Pagano said.
"Simply The Best was suited out in box six tonight because he is a wide runner and he has won his past four races from boxes five, six and eight.''
Maggie's Ethics' career as a stayer will be put on hold following her strong win in a personal best 29.76 over 520m on Saturday night.
She began brilliantly from box six and after trailing pacemaker Angry Adventure to the back straight, hit the front approaching the home turn to beat the solid finishing Brooklyn Brute by a half length.
Trainer Rod Morley said later: "The key to Maggie's Ethics is whether she jumps cleanly or not.
"She was a $2.50 favourite in a 600m race at Dapto on August 28 but missed the kick and found trouble.
"But when she nails the start, like she did tonight, she can sprint very well.
"I believe she will make a stayer because she is never blowing after a 520m event, and if she had been beaten tonight I was going to send her over 720m.
"But for the time being I'll keep her sprinting.''
Litter brothers Trio Of Clown and False Witness gave trainer Sam Sultana a winning double on Saturday when they won over 520m in 29.58 and 29.59 respectively.
Trio Of Clowns is owned by Brad Canty, who bought the dog from his breeder Angela Della Bosca.
"He qualified for the final of the group one National Derby at Wentworth Park for us but had to be scratched due to a toe injury,'' Canty said.
"Trio Of Clowns has been missing the kick at Wenty but once he got away cleanly tonight that was the end of the section.''
Angela Della Bosca, the former owner of Trio Of Clowns, retains ownership of False Witness who gave Victoria's Spritely Sian a big start and a beating over 520m on Saturday night.
Joe McFadyen, caretaker trainer of Spritely Sian, landed a quinella in a 520m fifth grade when Canya Brew It came from third on the back straight to bolt away, while kennelmate Screeching overcame a slow start to finish second.
