Zipping Xaden is chasing his fifth successive win when he makes his Wentworth Park debut on Thursday night but trainer Minnie Finn has warned the dog needs to get a clear run through the first turn.

A winner of his past four starts over 520m at Richmond, culminating with a sizzling 29.42 six lengths romp on September 10, Zipping Xaden will exit box four in Thursday's Ladbrokes Punter Assist Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.

"He is a fast dog but he is a slow beginner,'' Minnie Finn said.

"Zipping Xaden has not raced at WP but he had a box-to-box trial there on Monday.

"If he gets a clear run around the first corner he will be hard to beat, because he is very strong.''

The two fastest heat winners, Weffalee Lee Lee and Ritza Old Mate are tipped to battle out Thursday's Beast Unleashed Gosford to Wenty final over 520m.

In the 515m heats at Gosford on September 9, Weffelee Lee Lee led throughout from box one and clocked 29.56 while Ritza Old Mate came from box six and third early to win in 29.65.

Ritza Old Mate has box one in the final while Weffalee Lee Lee has drawn seven.

Patricia Chaker, trainer of Ritza Old Mate, said: "This dog has only won two of his six races but he has a lot more ability than he has shown so far.

"He can really run and I'm happy with box one.''

Weffalee Lee Lee's trainer Tony Forbes said: "I would have preferred an inside box for my bitch but she can handle a wide draw because she will run straight from the boxes to the first turn.

"She hasn't been around Wenty for a while but she won her maiden race there without having seen the track.

"If she comes out like she can I think she will be the pacemaker and if she has a bit of luck for the first 20 or 30m she should go good.''

Supermaxi has qualified for the Million Dollar Chase semi-finals at WP but at this stage connections are concentrating on Thursday night's Farrell's 4x2 520m fourth and fifth grade.

John Carruthers, whose wife Jane owns and trains Supermaxi, said: "At our age we don't look too far ahead, we take our races one at a time.

"Supermaxi clocked 29.42 when he won at his latest WP start and that fast time didn't surprise us.

"A few days earlier he had recorded a quick 23.75 in a post-to-post slip at Wenty on a track that was said to be a bit off.

"Supermaxi has always had a stack of ability and has won 11 of his 17 races, but in some of the others he has been inclined to find trouble.''

Hardest for Carruthers' dog to beat could be Victorian Milton Cranberry, prepared by group one winning trainer Anthony Azzopardi.

Milton Cranberry has won eight of 41 starts and Azzopardi said: "Although he has not raced at WP he had a box-to-box trial there on Monday and he went nicely.

"He is a a good honest dog with early pace and I consider him capable of getting down to 29.60 at Wenty if things go his way.

"I don't regard Milton Cranberry as being up to Million Dollar Chase class but because he has pace and has seen the track he has a good chance on Thursday.''
