Winning four races at a TAB meeting is a fine achievement for a professional trainer with a big kennel but battling bush trainer Rebecca Scott not only did that at The Gardens last Saturday night but landed her quartet of firsts with each of the four greyhounds she took to the track.
Scott won a 520m race with the John Budwee-owned Modest Man and scored 400m successes with Star in a slick 22.63, Ice On Fire in 22.95 and Sunburnt Keeper in 23.08.
The quickest 400m winners for the mid north coast trainer are raced by Judith and John Richardson, who bred the pair, along with Scott's Sunburnt Keeper, after mating their former Wentworth Park champion Sunburnt Highway with Zipping Twix.
Sunburnt Highway remains the most prolific winner to compete at Wentworth Park, scoring 39 of his 51 wins at headquarters, amassing over $355,000 and taking out the Masters Meteor in 2020.
The Richardsons trained Sunburnt Highway but Judith explained: "John is in poor health and we had to make the decision to back down from training.
"Originally we had members of this litter by Billy (Sunburnt Highway) for sale, but finished up deciding to send them to Rebecca to train on our behalf.
"She has done a fantastic job with them and has helped make John and I so proud of Billy's only litter.
"We bought Zipping Twix in the hope of establishing Sunburnt Highway as a sire but despite the success of his Zipping Twix offspring, who have already won $70,000 prizemoney, no breeder has wanted to use him.
"So recently we had Sunburnt Highway de-sexed and of course he will remain forever as a pet at our home.''

Rebecca Scott, who has been training for five years, gave much of the credit for her remarkable triumph at The Gardens to dual Million Dollar Chase winning trainer Peter Lagogiane.
"Whenever I need information about any aspect of looking after greyhounds I ring Peter,'' Scott said.
"He has been a dear friend for a long while and his advice is always so helpful.
"But my right hand man at home and on race night is my 18-year-old son Liam, who is absolutely passionate about greyhound racing.
"Modest Man is a smart young dog and his owner John Budwee is a shareholder in the former champion Feral Franky, who is now a stud success."
"Modest Man is beautifully bred as his dam Really Unreal is a daughter of Chica Destacada, the grand-dam of the great bitch Gets Late Early.
"Ice On Fire did not go as quick as Star last Saturday but has only just resumed racing after a setback and I expect him to do extra well when I step him up to 520 metres.''
Ice On Fire was runner-up in a 520m maiden at WP in June last year and Judith Richardson is particularly keen on the dog, pointing out: "His nature is identical to Sunburnt Highway's, he is like a replica of our old champion.''
