Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) has announced three finalists for the highly coveted Greyhound of the Year award after another stellar year of chasing.
Good Odds Cobber, Power And Glory and Sooty Keeping have been shortlisted by a panel of greyhound experts for their remarkable 2025 campaigns, with the winner set to be announced at the GRNSW annual awards ceremony in February.
Together, the three finalists won 10 Group races among 39 total victories around the country across the calendar year.
The first of the three nominees is Good Odds Cobber, owned by Tracey Hurst and trained by her husband Frank.
‘Cobber’ was almost unbeatable in the early stages of 2025, with the son of Fernando Bale x Good Odds Meghan winning the Golden Ticket at Albion Park in January, before going on to claim the Group 1 Gold Bullion final as well.
He then returned to NSW where he took out the Group 2 Bulli Gold Cup and Group 3 Temora Cup, before finishing fifth in the Group 1 Golden Easter Egg in April.
Good Odds Cobber represented NSW in the State Of Origin Sprint in June, winning the race while under the care of the Hurst’s great mate, Dave Irwin.
He qualified for the Group 1 Dapto Megastar final in September before being retired to stud under the care of star Victorian mentor, Jason Thompson.

Power And Glory thoroughly deserves his nomination after claiming the two biggest races on the NSW calendar – the Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg and the Ladbrokes Million Dollar Chase (MDC).
Trained by Ken Burnett and raced by Jeffery Eastburn, Power And Glory dazzled at Wentworth Park in 2025 with dominant victories on the sport’s biggest stage.
The son of Hooked On Scotch x Kwong Magic’s dual feature race victories coming in the exact same time of 29.15 and earning connections $1.3 million in the space of six months.
Power And Glory also made the final of the Temora Cup in March and was retired to stud in November.

The daughter of Feral Franky x Rema’s Jade claimed two Group 1 titles in the Ladbrokes Paul Wheeler and Flying Amy Classic, a Group 2 Richmond Oaks triumph and a Group 3 Nowra Puppy Classic victory.
She finished on the podium in the Temora Cup (third), State Of Origin sprint (third) and November’s Brother Fox (second).
‘Sooty’ also made finals of the National Futurity, the Dapto Megastar, the Topgun Sprint and the May edition of the Brother Fox.
She finished the year with 21 wins around the country with the equal most of any greyhound in NSW (18) for the season.
