Brumby Better Boxed Out Wide

TARAWI Brumby had box three in his most recent Wentworth Park win but trainer Alan Proctor considers the dog "perfectly drawn" in box eight there on Thursday night.

Tarawi Brumby will wear the pink rug in the 520m Farrell's 4x2 fifth grade after scoring in 30.11 from the same draw at WP in December.

But in that win Tarawi Brumby bungled the start and came from last to win running away.

"Although he missed the jump that night Tarawi Brumby is usually a reliable beginner,'' Proctor said.

"And he has a bit of early pace along with strength at the end of 520m so from his ideal draw this looks a good race for him.''

Trainer Jason Magri believes he has four strong chances at WP on Thursday night but rates Loco Boom, who has box eight in the 520m WP Sports Bar 1-2 wins 520m fifth grade, as his top prospect.

"He hasn't raced since finishing second at Richmond in mid-December but his two trials since having a couple of weeks off have been very good,'' Magri said.

"I really like this dog wearing the pink rug and while his best WP time is 30.30 I think he can get down to 29.80 with a good getaway and a clear run on Thursday.''

Magri's other chances at WP on Thursday are Loco Ryder, who has box five in the One Mitzvah for Bondi 520m fifth grade, Gloria Keeping (box three, gapnsw.com.au Stakes), and Loco Storm (box three, #getyourgreyhoundon 520m fifth grade).

Loco Storm was runner-up to Zipping Columbus in a heat of the group one National Derby at WP last Saturday night and is second reserve for this week's $75,000 to the winner final.

Mister OBrien is better known as a stayer but the versatile son of Fernando Bale has won three 520m races at WP and can notch a fourth in Thursday's Where Else But Wenty M3 Masters Stakes over 520m.

Whlie he is no world-beater, Mister O'Brien is rarely far away from the placegetters and has earned just on $90,000 for his owner-trainer Glenn Bryan.

The dog drops in grade on Thursday and Bryan believes he can win providing he receives a reasonably clear run in the middle stages.

Raymar Shame has not drawn boxes one or two in 13 starts but gets her chance to score her first WP win after drawing the rails in Thursday's @wentworthparkgreyhounds Max 200 points 520m fifth grade.

She chased home Hotshot Lily, Magic Bandit and Zipper On Time when fourth in a heat of the group one National Futurity at WP on Saturday night so plunges in class on Thursday.

"I am happy with how she has been going and it just depends on how she handles box one, because she has never drawn it before,'' trainer Dylan Goodger said.

Raymar Shame has been placed in three of seven WP appearances from unsuitable draws but showed her talent with back-to-back wins over 520m at Richmond in December.

She came from behind to beat Zipping Georgia in a handy 29.65 after drawing box seven on December 17 and a week later clocked a nippy 29.62 in defeating Tarawi Brumby.

Dylan Goodger won eight races in 2018 and 2019 with the Donna Campbell-trained It's A Shame, his first greyhound, and has since had success as an owner-trainer with Not A Shame and Such A Shame, who won 25 races.
