Screaming Violet disappointed trainer Greg Sutherland in the group 2 Richmond Oaks final but has since trialled brilliantly and is poised to notch her fifth Wentworth Park win on Saturday night.
Screaming Violet has box six in the gapnsw.com.au fourth and fifth grade 520m event and Sutherland believes she can win providing she can "dodge" My Monroe at box rise.
My Monroe has box eight and Sutherland said: "She has good early pace and heads left in the run to the first turn so Screaming Violet needs to begin as smartly as she usually does to avoid her.
"Screaming Violet beat Cumbria Chrissy in her heat of the Richmond Oaks in 29.54 and I expected her to run 29.30 in the final.
"But she was most disappointing, I can't explain why she went so poorly, finishing seventh, with Cumbria Chrissy winning the race.
"I have never had Screaming Violet going as well as she is now and since the Oaks she has trialled brilliantly.
"Screaming Violet used to drift out in the early stages but lately has been running straight which is great.''
Suribachi has not raced for seven weeks but nothing has been amiss and she is ready to run a big race in Saturday's non graded 720m event at WentwowrP.
"Since Suribachi finished third to Light Of Mine at Wentworth Park on January 15 I have nominated her several times but no suitable 720m races have been available,'' trainer Ruth King said.
"But I have kept her ticking along with plenty of work up the straight and trials over 590m at Bulli.
"She is obviously going into this race pretty fresh but she is naturally strong and is well drawn in box two.''
Suribachi will be part of an interesting clash with Light Of Mine, fresh from finishing sixth in the group 1 Zoom Top at The Meadows on February 14, and Power Squeeze, who jumped from a 520m maiden win to a runaway first up 720m Wentworth Park victory on February 19.
Magnificent goes into Thursday's Wagga to WP Final as the fastest heat winner and trainer Graeme Hughes is unconcerned about his bitch's box five draw.
In the 525m heats at Wagga on February 27, Magnificent led throughout in 30.57, with Kiwi Harry next best with a 30.76 win.
"Magnificent had box two at Wagga but I prefer her drawn in the middle of the track,'' trainer Hughes said.
"When she draws inside she shifts out a bit and from box seven or eight she wants to move slightly to the left, so I think box five suits her at Wentworth Park.
"She finished second at Wentworth Park in November but is going a lot better since resuming from a spell and has had two wins and a second from four starts this year.
"I bred Magnificent from my former handy bitch Springview Sugar but sold her as a puppy to the owners of a hotel in Victoria and they got me to train her for her racing career.''
Fascinate Samuel won in fast times of 29.09 and 29.27 over 515m at Gosford last month and should only need to begin cleanly from his rails draw to take out Thursday's Wentworth Park Sports Bar 520m fifth grade.
Fascinate Samuel was badly hampered trying to reach the rails when seventh from box eight at Wentworth Park on February 28 but had come from box two in each of his brilliant Gosford wins.
At his sole appearance from box one Fascinate Samuel bungled the start completely at Wentworth Park on January 1, making up ground to finish fourth, but his liking for an inside draw is obvious with three wins from four starts out of box two.
Shannon Boyd trains Fascinate Samuel and his talented litter sister Fascinate Suzie who has box four in the same race on Thursday night.
But she should not trouble her brother as she likes to use a bit of the track.
Their owner Noelene Holloway said: "Fascinate Suzie should be up there for a long way but she is not nearly as quick as Fascinate Samuel.''
