Jason Mackay trained the winners of both heats of the Simply Limelight Gosford to Wentworth Park series on March 17 and rates the faster qualifier Hera Rolex as his better chance in Thursday night's 520m final.

At Gosford Hera Rolex led all the way to cover the 515m in a very smart 29.23 while her kennelmate Digger Sure Can took the lead at the winning post with a lap to go before winning in 29.64.

In Thursday night's final Hera Rolex has box three while Digger Sure Can has drawn six.

Jason Mackay said: "They are only 23 months old so I put them in this series to avoid having to take them to Wenty against more experienced dogs.

"I figured racing against dogs with equally limited experience they would be less likely to get bashed around but they will both win races in town.

"They have both been trialled at Wenty and Hera Rolex went particularly well."

"The 520m won't worry her because while she has clocked first splits of 4.41 and 4.47 in races at Gosford, when she won her heat she ran home in a strong 12.44.

"Digger Sure Can is an honest dog who will win a couple at WP but on Thursday night Hera Rolex is my better prospect.''

Entertainer finished seventh in last Saturday's Group 3 New Sensation at Wentworth Park but his run was far better than it looked on paper.

The Vic Sultana-trained dog gets his chance to notch his fourth city win when he exits box eight in Thursday night's Get Trackside Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.

In the New Sensation, Entertainer began smartly from box five but when he was checked at the first turn by Back Tomorrow, who had veered out from box two, he lost all chance and the winner, Consigliere, out in box eight, stole a winning break.

Vic Sultana said: "Entertainer wants an outside draw because he usually runs off on the first turn at Wenty.

"Box eight should suit him, so long as he uses the outside alley.

"That means he needs to begin cleanly.

"Box eight at Wentworth Park can be a tricky draw because I've seen so many dogs who look suited out there miss the start and then find themselves in trouble at the first turn.

"But yes, I'm happy seeing him out there on Thursday.''

Entertainer won in a nippy 29.70 from box eight at Wentworth Park on January 31 but began only fairly and then collided immediately when a strong finishing fourth while wearing the pink rug there on February 19.

There does not look to be a more suitably drawn competitor at Wentworth Park on Thursday than Release Point, who has box one in the Sponsor a Race @ Wenty 520m fifth grade.

Trained by Vic Sultana's brother Sam Sultana, Release Point is undefeated in four appearances from box one.

Each of those wins was over 401m at Richmond but he was desperately unlucky when fourth, from box seven, at his most recent outing at Wentworth Park on March 19.

Release Point was badly hampered while attempting to reach the rails in that race and clocked a fast 29.66 when second, from box two, at Wentworth Park on March 5.

None of Release Point's rivals on Thursday night has come anywhere near those figures at Wentworth Park and from box one he should only need to jump on terms with his opponents to lead all the way.
