Off The Chart reeled off a string of dazzling sectional times before bolting away with Saturday night's Wheeler Kennels Golden Easter Egg at Wentworth Park, stopping the clock with race record figures of 29.12.
That was .03sec faster than Power And Glory recorded in taking out the 2025 group one event, with Off The Chart fulfilling trainer Peter Presutto's prediction.
After Off The Chart clocked sensational splits of 5.38, 13.54 and 17.55 in his Easter Egg semi final win, Presutto declared the dog was capable of beginning better so would go even quicker if he nailed the start in the final.
Off The Chart did exactly that on Saturday night, spearing out of box five to clock 5.34, 13.41 and 17.41 on the way to his race record breaking win.
Consigliere, trained by Jodie Lord was five lengths away second, with Zig Zag Man three lengths back in third place.
Off The Chart's $300,000 cheque on Saturday night lifts his earnings to $448,560, following recent wins in the Ballarat and Shepparton Cup finals.
More race records tumbled on Saturday night with the Todd Barnes-trained Pound Keeping's 29.40 in the Magic Maiden final trimming .22sec off the previous best time of 29.62, posted by Anything Less in 2014.
Pound Keeping was handled by Todd Barnes' daughter Charlee and after the race, Barnes' mother, leading trainer Minnie Finn, said: "Charlee might have to box her all the time because we didn't expect Pound Keeping to come out running like that.
"Although Pound Keeping was fastest qualifier we were concerned about her outside draw, but when she flew out of box eight it wasn't a problem.''
Magpie Hector was last to leave the boxes but circled the field from his box eight draw to break the race record in the group one Wests Macarthur Association Cup final.
The Jack Smith-trained dog covered the 720m in 41.51, .02sec inside Zipping Orlando's time standard for the race established in 2023.
Ray Holt said later: "Overflow Beau has had so many setbacks, he is just a marvellous old dog.
"He clocked his best Wenty time of 29.35 two years ago so to run 29.40 at his age, after all the problems he has encountered, is just remarkable.
"His trainer Craig Chappelow deserves all the praise in the world for Overflow Beau's form.''
Late In Winter led throughout to win an emotion-charged Ausure Ultra Sense final in 29.44 for Nicole Wallace, whose parents, Steve and Pauline Moran, have both passed away recently.
Late In Winter has now established himself as among the fastest beginners in training.
And while Off The Chart and Magpie Hector won Saturday night's group one races, the run of the night was probably the performance of Cumbria Jack, who scored his 22nd win in 32 starts in The Ambrosoli.
Paw Oswald began brilliantly from box one and set up a big early lead, but Cumbria Jack, eight lengths behind him on the back straight, seemingly sprouted wings in the straight to win by three-quarters of a length in a fast 29.36.
Cumbria Jack dwelt at box rise and was pushed back to last at the first turn.
But when a rails run materialised he grabbed it and zoomed along the inside to set off after the National Derby winner Paw Oswald.
Although Cumbria Jack was still a distant second coming to the home turn, he can lay claim to being the best dog in Australia after the way he surged to the line to win running away.
