Jungle Johnny went .28sec slower than he did on July 18 when he smashed his own Wentworth Park track record of 29.00 but his 29.14 performance on Saturday night was equally meritorious.
In his record busting win Jungle Johnny jumped smartly and led virtually all-the-way but in Saturday night's Daniel Weizman Appreciation Stakes he was last to leave the starting boxes.
He mustered speed immediately and after trailing Galba Model and Magic Bandit going into the first turn, swept around them through the catching pen and careered away to score by seven lengths from Magic Bandit.
Several trainers on Saturday reported the track as being nowhere near as fast as when Jungle Johnny broke the Wentworth Park record so his latest performance is just as remarkable.
Jungle Johnny is now likely to tackle next Saturday night's heats of the National Sprint Championship, a race that is also on the radar of exciting new sprint find Tennessee Kade.
Owner-breeder Peter Spiteri refused offers of $100,000 and $150,000 for Tennessee Kade after his dog had won a Ballarat maiden for trainer Luke Adams.
Since switching to Jason Magri's NSW kennels, Tennessee Kade is unbeaten in three races, all at Wentworth Park.
He led throughout in 29.68 and 29.31 before coming from behind to win in 29.56 on Saturday night.
Tennessee Kade trailed Bandit Lynne and then Canya Handle It on Saturday before running down the latter dog to score by three-quarters of a length.
After the race trainer Jason Magri said: "That was a pleasing effort before he didn't nail the start tonight and they were going pretty fast up front, with Canya Handle It clocking very quick second and third sections of 13.57 and 17.86.
"Tennessee Kade's next race will probably be in the heats of the National Sprint at Wentworth Park next Saturday.
"The grand final this year is to be run at Sandown, and Tennessee Kade knows his way around there.''
Vodka And Ice was a certainty beaten when second, a half length behind $23 outsider Winifred Nora, in Saturday's 720m race.
After a slow start Vodka And Ice was last approaching the first bend but moved into fourth position on the back straight.
He almost certainly would have won had he not run into the back of a tiring rival leaving the back straight, and rattled home from fourth on the home bend to just miss.
His trainer Caroline Hughes had better fortune in the following race when Vodka And Ice's litter brother West Rock Casey stormed home to win over 520m in 29.70.
West Rock Casey, who was third at the top of the straight, defeated pacemaker Baby Face Bandit by a neck.
Winsome Storm, who finished second and third in a trio of 720m races at Wentworth Park in May, June and July, reverted to sprinting to take out a 520m event on Saturday in 29.90.
Galba Major led to the home turn but Winsome Storm, always noted for his strength at the end of 520m, powered away to score by just over a length.
After the race trainer Minnie Finn said: "Winsome Storm will get another crack at long distance races later on but I decided to try and go through his low grade 520m races before hand.''
Jungle Johnny's trainer Mark Gatt landed a winning double on Saturday when Ritza Sophie won in 29.57, just .02sec outside her personal best Wenty figures.
On Saturday Ritza Sophie, who took out this year's group one Peter Mosman Opal at Wemtworth Park, had two lengths to spare at the finish, withstanding a late surge from Bull Market, trained by Mark Gatt's brother Daniel.
