CAN'T Wait was having her first start at Wentworth Park but she completed a big week for Windsor trainer Allen Williams when she took the lead at the catching pen and held on to take out a 520m fifth grade on Saturday night.

A daughter of former brilliant speedster Red Hot Mouse, a winner of 15 races and $62,000 for trainer Hank Vanderburg, Can't Wait covered the 520m in 29.95 but her trainer believes she can keep improving.

"Can't Wait had trialled around 29.80 for me at Wentworth Park and she is only 22 months old so has scope for plenty of improvement." Wiliams said.

"I believe there could be a good race win ahead for this bitch."

"I've had a great week because her kennelmate Sorento To Excel won in near record time over 340m at Bulli on Tuesday despite having not raced since May 5."

"On that date Sorento To Excel won at Gosford in a flying 29.26 for the 515m trip, even though he had not been tried previously beyond 450m at Maitland."

"But I had no doubt about his ability to run 500m plus because in a 324m trial at Richmond he went close to breaking the run home record.''

Regal Kade scored her first Wentworth Park win in a 520m fifth grade on Saturday, running down pacemaker Dollar Keeping to win by over three lengths in a handy 29.72.

After the race, Ray Magri, brother of Regal Kade's trainer Jason Magri, said, "She has always been capable of clocking fast times in trials so that win did not surprise us."

"Regal Kade is a litter sister to my brother's very smart dog Tennessee Kade, who has eight from 18 races."

Fastest time of the night was the 29.42 posted by the David Smith-trained Flash Ethics, who trailed Joanne to the back straight but powered away to score by nearly two lengths.

Flash Ethics is a son of the former Dapto 729m long distance record holder White Sox Ethics, who was owned by David Smith but trained by Peter Mantach.

David Smith landed a winning double on Saturday when Cyclone Ethics, drawn as second reserve but who gained a start in the final event from box eight, led from the catching pen and won by nine lengths in 29.90.

Many considered Trunkey Mick unlucky when second in his heat and the Leanne Godden-trained dog atoned by bolting away with Saturday night's fifth grade final in a fast 29.50.

Most remarkable win on Saturday was by Martini Nights, who missed the jump and was badly checked soon after box rise.

Martini Nights was seventh at the first turn and still languishing back in fifth spot coming to the home bend, before rocketing home down the outside to win running away in 30.04.

Martini Nights is owned by Adam Brandt, who raced the greyhound's dam French Martini, a group one winner and track record breaker.

Like Martini Nights, French Martini was trained by Peter Lagogiane and she won 15 of 32 races for the Llandilo trainer, earning $163,000.
