Destroying was a heavily backed $1.45 favourite on debut at Wentworth Park last Thursday night but a severe check at box rise ruined his prospects and he finished a distant third to Zipping Bueller in a roughly-run race.
The Jodie Lord-trained Destroying is drawn to make amends on Thursday when he will exit box one in the NSW GBOTA Welcome Maiden over 520m.
An unexpected error occurred.
Lord's husband Andy said their greyhound had been sensationally backed last week due to a pair of brilliant trials at Wentworth Park.
"He broke 24sec in a post-to-post slip and then trialled 30 dead on a heavy track at his first go over 520m,'' Andy Lord said.
"When the dog in box one veered to the right and knocked Destroying, who had drawn two, out of the race at the start last week, that's just part of racing.
"Greyhounds don't have jockeys on their backs so that sort of thing can happen from time to time.''
Destroying's kennelmate Bandit Bugsy has box two on Thursday but Andy Lord does not believe she will worry him.
Lord said: "Bandit Bugsy is a handy bitch but she won't hamper Destroying because she lacks early speed and is looking for races longer than 520m.''
All Champagne is the only greyhound to have broken 30sec at Wentworth Park in Thursday night's Ladbrokes Odds Surge Stakes, a 520m one win fifth grade.
An unexpected error occurred.
She clocked 29.84 when a strong finishing third, beaten just under four lengths, to Young Star's flying 29.57 at Wentworth Park last Thursday.
Trainer Peter Sims believes All Champagne is capable of improvement, pointing out: "When she finished fifth at Wentworth Park on March 27 she was seeing the track for the first time.
"She had not been trialled there so her good third last week was only her second visit to the course.
"All Champagne is bred to be good, she is a younger half sister to Sinaloa Girl, who has won eight races at Wenty for Hayley Gilbert.
"But where Sinaloa Girl goes quick early, All Champagne's best feature is her strength at the finish.
"All Champagne usually begins nicely but doesn't have the early zip to hold the lead.
"She is extremely clean-winded and is getting better as she builds up her confidence.''
Canya Believe It joined the kennels of Patricia Chaker only a month ago and followed a sizzling 29.33 win over 515m at Gosford on April 1 with a strong finishing third to Make Them Cry at Wentworth Park on Sunday.
An unexpected error occurred.
"I'm still getting to know Canya Believe It but he is a nice dog and I was happy with his run on Sunday,'' Chaker said.
"Box one will suit him on Thursday and the small field of six will also help because he likes to move around a bit.''
When he finished third on Sunday, Canya Believe It had box four and was hampered by a wide runner in the early stages.
Patricia Chaker believes he will be hard to beat on Thursday, but concedes the consistent Red Rock Ripper, in box two, will be a danger.
