Carole and Jeff Eaton had a record haul of five winners on the Richmond straight track last Thursday - all sired by the late Aussie Infrared.

They won with Layton Magic in 17.79, Magic Mania (17.91), their champion straight tracker Logie Magic in 17.52, up-and-coming star Freight Express in a scorching 17.45 and Red Ball Rocket in 17.57.

In the final race on the 12-event card another of their team, Audrey's Magic, finished second, beaten a head.

"It was easily the most successful day we've had at the track,'' said Carole Eaton.

"We are especially excited about Freight Express, who has now won five from 10 starts and has also clocked 22.30 over 400m at Maitland.

"So he goes well around the circle too but we took him to Richmond, where the drag lure starts in front of the boxes, because he was coming out slowly behind the mechanical lure.

"Hopefully racing up the straight will help him jump better when he goes back to circle tracks.''

Freight Express, Magic Mania and Layton Magic, are siblings sired by Aussie Infrared from Mary Mary, a daughter of Fascinate Mary, who won 22 races for Carole Eaton's sister Noelene Holloway.

"My sister Lorraine Atchison had told me there was a nice litter by Aussie Infrared from Mary Mary at breeder Roger Sandes' property so I went to have a look at them,'' Eaton said.

"I really liked them and bought four of the pups, but that night I won a $13,000 jackpot playing the pokies at my local club so went back and bought another one the next morning.

"That's how we got Freight Express.''

Aussie Infrared died on February 10 and is buried alongside his dam Ebby Miss and former top class stayer Ebby Ripper at owner Michael Eberand's property.

Eberand said: "Aussie Infrared has sired the winners of Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Australian Cups but closest he has got to the Million Dollar Chase was when his son Zipping Kyrgios was beaten a head by McInerney in 2022.

"He is currently second so far this year behind the great Fernando Bale for stud dog earnings and winners with $8,482,396 and 2425 wins.''

Michael Eberand and studmaster Geoff Collins still have 30 Aussie Infrared straws but the dog's owner is confident his influence will continue for years to come.

"His sons Elite Machine, Tim Zoo, Big Energy, Kai Bale and Catch The Thief have the potential to succeed at stud so hopefully we will see at least one of them contribute to Aussie Infrared's legacy.''
