She's A Pearl won the 2022 Group One Golden Easter Egg and now her trainers Jodie and Andy Lord are setting her son He's A Pearl for the same race in 2026 following the dog's dazzling performance at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

He's A Pearl exploded from box two and led all the way to win a 520m fifth grade by eight lengths in a blistering 29.22, .08sec faster than his previous best Wentworth Park time posted on January 29.

Just 42 minutes later his litter sister She's Fearless stormed home out wide to win a similar 520m event in 29.64, just .01sec slower than her personal best recorded in July last year.

Andy Lord said later: "This breed don't reach their peak until they turn two years old and at 28 months He's A Pearl and She's Fearless are just hitting their straps.

"She's A Pearl, who went on to win the Egg and $1.77 million, only won three of her first seven starts and she wasn't at her peak until after she turned two.

"So Jodie and I will keep ticking He's A Pearl and She's Fearless along at Wentworth Park until the Easter Egg heats on March 28.''

Total Faith, whelped on April 1, 2021, was the oldest dog in Saturday night's top grade Masters race at Wentworth Park but he trailed Angelo to the home bend before hitting the front in the straight and winning in 29.95.

After the race Total Faith's trainer Alan Clare said: "I have 13 greyhounds in work but the old bloke is still the best of them.

"I was a bit worried when he looked like he was going to try and get underneath Angelo leaving the back straight.

"I thought to myself 'don't do that' because Angelo is such a good railer.

"So I was relieved when Total Faith stayed on the outside and I reckon he had his wheel chair in top gear in the straight.''

Vodka And Ice surprised by clocking a fast 41.67 personal best Wentworth Park 720m time on January 29 but before Saturday night's long-distance race trainer Caroline Hughes was confident he would repeat those figures.

"He has been flying in trials, running quicker times than my group race winner Late Night News, so I wasn't surprised at those figures,'' Hughes explained.

And on Saturday night Vodka And Ice lived up to his trainer's confidence by leading all the way in an exceptionally quick 41.53.

He led all the way but had to pull out all stops in the straight to score by just under a length from his arch rival Light Of Mine, who had finished ahead of him in each of their four previous clashes.

Not far behind He's A Pearl's figures on Saturday was the 29.32 recorded by his kennelmate Taormina, who bounced back to top form with an all-the-way romp in Saturday's 520m top grade event.

Taormina came out running from box six and scored by nearly nine lengths to take her Wentworth Park tally to 18 wins and 11 placings from 36 appearances.

Taormina's brilliant opening split of 5.40 was equalled by fifth grade winner Hey Bubba Louie, who scored his seventh win in 20 starts for owner-trainer Pauline Moran.

Among Saturday's most impressive winners was the Mick Hardman-trained Pax Bostonia, who stormed home out wide to win a 520m fifth grade in 29.61.

Pax Bostonia's win was full of merit because he was inconvenienced when trapped on the outside of Before The Dawn, who wanted to push off the track, on the first corner.
