Pax Bostonia will target the $100,000 to the winner Ladbrokes Country Classic at Dubbo following his outstanding come-from-behind performance to win in fast time at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

After being seventh early and a distant fifth on the back straight, Pax Bostonia came from third on the home turn to run down hot favourite Taw Major in a slick 29.52 for the 520m.

After the race, trainer Mick Hardman said: "I gave Pax Bostonia a trial over the 605m Country Classic trip at Dubbo last week and he clocked 34.79.

"I wasn't happy with that time, but Pax Bostonia did not handle the track well, so I intend to take him back to Dubbo for a post-to-post slip before the Country Classic heats on March 14.

"But I was very pleased with his run tonight, that was an outstanding effort, and while he will be suited by 605m I believe he will get further, I think he could become a fine stayer.''

Maitland Cup winner Black Myth Wave, fresh from finishing second behind Gold Force in the Bulli Gold Cup in track record time on February 13, posted a sensational 29.36 in leading all the way at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

Trained by Vic Sultana for owner Chenhao "Vincent" Sun, Black Myth Wave carved out sizzling second and third sectional times of 13.53 and 17.57 in his eight-length winning romp.

Vic Sultana completed a winning double later in the night when odds-on favourite Night Agent ran down It's A Glam to win in 29.98, while his son Darren Sultana trained Natisa's Secret, who scored a 10-length win in a 520m fifth grade in 30.04.

Intrepid Eagle finally produced his best form at Wentworth Park for owner Brian Jaggers and trainer Wayne Bradley when he led all the way in a personal best 29.49 on Saturday night.

Tipping the scales at close to a hefty 36kg, Intrepid Eagle began fast from box five before running home in a smart 11.68.

After the race, trainer Wayne Bradley said: "We've always known he had the ability to run that sort of time, but I was a bit disappointed with his third placings at his previous two Wentworth Park starts, and for some reason he just hasn't been producing his best form at Wenty.''

Intrepid Eagle was bred by his owner, who raced the dog's dam, Solar Sky, a winner of 16 races.

"Solar Sky has been a marvellous brood bitch, having whelped three litters comprising 28 puppies and 26 of them have won races, while the other two did not race at all,'' owner Brian Jaggers said.

Gudrid, named after one of the characters in the popular TV series The Vikings, showed her liking for an outside draw when she exited box eight for the first time before winning in 29.83 on Saturday night.

It was Gudrid's third Wentworth Park win, and while her personal best time of 29.73 was from box one, trainer Luke Azzopardi said: "She gets wide so is suited from an outside box.

"When the two dog Fascinate Kath got up inside Gudrid at the end of the back straight, I thought my bitch might be 'gone' but she kicked again and then went to the line well, running home in 11.77.''

Charmaine Roberts, trainer of joint 2025 NSW Greyhound of the Year award winner Sooty Keeping, was in the winning list as an owner on Saturday night when her Jason Magri-trained Lomax Keeping took out the opening event in 29.93.

Lomax Keeping was a short-priced favourite but after dwelling at box rise, mustered speed quickly to lead easily at the first turn.

Although tiring in the straight, Lomax Keeping had a half-length to spare at the finish from the Mick Hardman-trained Zipping Smee.

Jason Magri said later: "Lomax Keeping is a bit weak at the end of 520m, but he is only young, just 21 months old, so I'm hoping he gets stronger with age.

"And what didn't help him tonight was that he missed the kick and had to use plenty of zip to hit the front.''

Classy Bandit notched her seventh Wentworth Park win for trainer Jodie Lord in 29.63, while in Saturday's star-studded Masters race, the Minnie Finn-trained Both Bowers Ace registered his 16th Wentworth Park victory when he caught Zipping Hopkins in the last bound to score in 29.70.
