Cumbria Jack, Eriza Sparkles and Cumbria Benny have settled in to caretaker trainer Tony Brett's Queensland kennels to prepare for the heats of the Ipswich Cup.
The Cup series begins on May 28 over 457m at the Q1 Lakeside circuit with the final, worth a total of $225,000, at the same course on June 4.
Cumbria Jack, who shared the Wentworth Park 520m record with Dalwhinnie until Mark Gatt's Jungle Johnny stopped the clock at 29.00s on March 5, goes into the Cup heats boasting a record of 22 wins from 32 races and $478,000.
Eriza Sparkles has won 14 of her 30 starts for $347,505 while Cumbria Benny, a litter brother to Cumbria Jack, has won 16 of 49 appearances, earning $79,000.
Cumbria Jack's fastest time over the Lakeside 457m trip is 25.15, while Eriza Sparkles has recorded 25.16 with Cumbria Benny at 25.50.
Validate, trained in Brisbane by former Sydneysider Jeff Crawford, established current the track record of 24.84 when he won at Lakeside on March 21.
Prim And Pretty will be chasing her fourth Wentworth Park win for owner-trainer Chris Fallshaw when she tackles Saturday night's third race, a 520m fifth grade - remarkable considering she was a gift to the rookie trainer.
Prim And Pretty was presented to Fallshaw, who has been a trainer for just 10 months, by her owner, north coast breeder Michael Jones, after she had won her maiden race at Wentworth Park in February last year in the slow time of 30.64.
Prim And Pretty was then trained by David Smith, who, like Fallshaw, is based at Elderslie, near Camden.
"I live just down the road from David and when Michael Jones offered Prim And Pretty to me he just said if I was happy with her I could give him $1000 when she won a race for me,” Fallshaw said.
“I took up training greyhounds as a hobby after I had serious health problems. My kidneys failed and I underwent a transplant but later, when that also failed, I had to begin doing dialysis treatment.
"Fortunately I am able to do that at home, three days a week, so am able to enjoy working with a couple of greyhounds.
"My only other greyhound is Valiant Gunn, a maiden who has been placed in three of eight starts, including a placing from two Wentworth Park outings.''
