When Victorian trainer Kate Gorman returned home from the Greyhound Racing NSW Puppy Auction in 2025, she was lavish in her praise of the event.
Among those she told was her great friend Lyn Smith.
Fast forward to this year's auction and Lyn will be heading north with five puppies by Beast Unleashed from the royally bred, Group 1 finalist Double Denim.
They are standouts of the auction and Lyn says all are for genuine sale.
Double Denim (Bernardo-On The Runway) is, according to Lyn, "absolutely a mummies' girl".
"She has always been my girl, still to this day a while after she raced," said Lyn.
And race she did, winning 11 races, being placed 15 times and earning $53,000.
"She ran 34.13 over the 600 metres at Sandown and also run quick time over the sprint there," said Lyn.
Double Denim ran in the 2025 Group 1 Sandown Cup final which was won by Raider's Guide
Her claim to fame is her final berth in the Group 1 Sandown Cup, but she was a fast all-distance winner on city tracks and she comes from a fabulous litter.
They include that special speedster Pass The BuckĀ (18 wins, $166,000), a Group winner and The Phoenix finalist.
Also in the litter is Lamia Mila (14 wins, $70,000) a Ballarat track record breaker and finalist in the G2 Laurels.
Others include Hot Lips (21 wins, $42,000) and the brilliant Short And Stumpy (31 wins, $80,000) etc.
"I was training Double Denim for Darren Puleio and also had Short And Stumpy and American Queen for him," said Lyn.
"Darren was thinking of selling Double Denim.
"He offered her to me and I love her, so naturally I bought her. She has always followed me around the property wherever I go."
Double Denim is a blueblood.

Her mother, On The Runway, is a litter sister to such greats as Poke The Bear and Out Of Range and a half-sister to Hooked On Scotch.
Their dam, Nicki Fields, is already a broodbitch legend.
When Lyn went looking for a mate for Double Denim she knew she needed Barcia Bale.
"Hooked On Scotch would have been the perfect mate as Barcia Bale's great sire son, but obviously that could not happen," said Lyn.
She plumped for Beast Unleashed who is noted for the pace and chase of his progeny.
"We have one dog and four bitches in the auction and it was a hard decision which ones to sell," she said.
"This litter is such an even litter, all forward and outgoing."
