Fabricator ran the race of his life to finish third in the all-time fastest Vic Peters Classic final last Saturday night and drops to fifth grade company in Thursday's 520m fifth race at Wentworth Park.
Last Saturday Fabricator came from fifth early to beat all but Grant Keeping and Repellent, with the winner of the group one race stopping the clock in race record figures of 29.31.
Fabricator's time was 29.58, which would have been good enough to win the 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022 and 2025 finals.
He has box eight on Thursday and trainer Beau Micallef said: "I like him drawn out there.
"I was really proud of how he went last Saturday.''
Fabricator overcame a poor start to win from box eight at WP in 29.62 on June 18 and has recorded 29.52 after coming from box five at headquarters on June 27.
Micallef, who has been a full-time trainer for just 12 months, has only two greyhounds in his south coast kennels.
Zipping Aladdin stunned racegoers with a flying 29.44 winning performance at WP last Thursday night but trainer Mick Hardman was not surprised.
"He has been threatening to run that sort of time for quite a while,'' Hardman said.
"I always knew he had enough ability to produce those figures but in his previous four wins he has gone well without clocking the sort of time I knew he could run.
"Zipping Aladdin is ideally drawn in box one in Thursday's Wenty Leagues Stakes but he must use the box, he needs to begin cleanly.
"Minnie Finn's Vic Peters finalist Hey Arnold and Neil Staines' front runner Galba Model are against Zipping Aladdin and while they have not run it yet, I think they both have the potential to get down to my dog's winning time from last week.''
Taormina, who won 23 of 51 starts for trainer Jodie Lord, has been retired to stud after a string of WP wins so her Victorian owner-breeder Pat Sofra has sent Little Vesper to the Gunning, NSW kennels as a replacement.
Little Vesper has scored two wins and two seconds from her past four WP appearances and should enhance that record by winning Thursday night's race 11, a 520m fifth grade.
After winning in 29.66 at WP last month, Little Vesper reeled off her fastest city win by clocking 29.50 last Thursday.
She has box six on Thursday and Andy Lord, the trainer's husband, said: "Little Vesper lacked WP and 520m experience when she began racing so has improved out of sight lately.
"She has really come good and we think there is a big race win waiting for her in the future.''
The Lords are also excited at the potential of their rookie stayer Sin City Bandit, who has box two in Thursday's Where Else But Wenty? 720m mixed stakes.
Sin City Bandit is a litter sister to Power Squeeze, who was fourth in a group one final over 715m at Sandown recently and has had two wins and six placings from his past nine long-distance outings, most of them in elite company.
Andy Lord said: "Sin City Bandit is no quicker than Power Squeeze but she has better habits.
"He is a come-from-behind stayer but Sin City Bandit is a front-runner who can see out a strong 720m.''
Last week Sin City Bandit was having her first long-distance race since April but she jumped in front and demolished her opposition by 17 lengths in a slick 41.71.
