Jungle Johnny set the current Wentworth Park 520m record of 29sec on March 5 and while he has been sidelined since that epic performance trainer Mark Gatt says his superstar is going "as good as, if not better than ever.''
That's daunting prospect for Jungle Johnny's rivals in Saturday night's top grade Mark Hughes Foundation Stakes over 520m at WP.
Mark Gatt said: "Jungle Johnny is actually trialling a tick quicker than he was before he broke the record at Wenty.
"He just needs to bring his trial form to the races on Saturday night.
"Although he has box six, I don't think Jungle Johnny is badly drawn.
"Magic Bandit, who has box five, is a railer with good early pace and she might give my dog a drag across in the run to the first turn.
"Pax Bostonia, drawn outside Jungle Johnny in seven, does not have a great deal of early speed while my other dog Wyndra All Heart, who has box eight, can show zip early but he will run straight from the boxes so shouldn't cause any problems.''
Mark Gatt's brother Daniel has the strong finishing Bull Market up against the Jodie Lord-trained speedster Little Vesper in Saturday's 520m fifth grade final but while heat times suggest this is a match between that pair, Notts Country could spoil the party.
Notts County's 30.03 win was the slowest of the four heats, behind Bull Market (29.74), Little Vesper (29.76) and Stomp Shuffle (29.79).
But Notts County's win was outstanding as he was badly hampered from box eight, being checked twice when attempting to cross to the rails.
Notts County is much better placed in box three on Saturday and won his maiden race at WP from box two in 29.67 on New Year's Day.
His tenacious heat win suggests Notts County is going better now than when he he scored his break through success.
Leading trainers Jodie and Andy Lord were so impressed with the training record of Caitlyn and Ricky Brewer they sent their greyhound Box Fly Bandit, a daughter of their champion bitch She's A Pearl, to the Woodstock (Cowra) conditioners.
Ricky Brewer won first-up with Box Fly Bandit over 516m at Dubbo on July `11 and she is in Saturday's WP Sports Bar 520m fifth grade with a strong chance.
Box Fly Bandit led throughout at Dubbo in a tidy 29.56 and because she used a bit of the track, should appreciate having a vacant box outside her box four draw.
"Bobbin' Bruno has only been in our kennels a fortnight so we haven't had time to trial him, but he has settled in well.''
Hardest for Bobbin' Bruno to beat looks to be Bandt Mia (box three), who has shown good early speed when placed in two from six WP appearances.
"This looks a winnable race for Bandit Mia and while she can dig in from any box, it's usually better to be drawn near the fence at Wentworth Park,'' trainer Chris O'Brien said.
Bandit Mia led early when fourth to Ritza Tiana and third to Bull Market at her past two WP outings but meets weaker opposition on Saturday.
