Group one winning jockey Tyler Schiller grew up in Young so it was only natural that when he ventured into greryhound ownership he would seek out a top flight trainer in that area.

Schiller manages the Group 1 Pups syndicate, which includes fellow jockeys Zac Lloyd and Dylan Gibbons, and on Thursday night their promising stayer Whiskey Grace, prepared by Ike McCorkindale, a highly successful trainer from Young, should break through for her first Wentworth Park win.

Whiskey Grace was a luckless second behind up-and-coming stayer Sin City Bandit over 720m at WP last Thursday and should only need to begin cleanly to win this week's gapnsw.com.au 1-3 wins Mixed Stakes.

Whiskey Grace has box seven, the draw she had last week, and trainer Ike McCorkindale said: "I like her boxed out there.

"Unfortunately she missed the kick last Thursday and had to do a lot of work in the early and middle stages before getting up to run second.

"Hopefully she can get away better this time so she won't have to work so hard to put herself into a good position.

"She has run into Sin City Bandit in each of her two WP staying races so I was very keen to get her into this race when I saw a zero to three wins 720m event advertised.''

McCorkindale considers Wow Ace, who has finished third at each of his four WP 720m assignments, as the dog to beat on Thursday.

Wow Ace's trainer Craig Blakemore could take out Thursday's Gosford to WP Final with Pay Me, who looks well positioned out in box seven.

Pay Me had box one when he led most of the way to win his 515m Gosford heat on July 14 but raced very wide, suggesting he will relish his box seven draw on Thursday.

Lady Llorona, who stopped the clock at 29.83, was fastest Gosford heat winner, but Pay Me can improve sharply on his 30.15 figures.

Pay Me has been placed in one of three WP starts, against far tougher class than the lineup he opposes on Thursday.

He ran fourth, just two lengths behind boom youngster Notts County at WP on July 9, but was unlucky not to finish closer.

Pay Me had box seven and was severely hampered in the run to the first turn by the greyhound in box eight pushing across towards the rails.

Early favourite Zipping Ruger will be scratched from Thursday's third heat of a 520m fifth grade, as he has fractured his tail.

But his trainer Jason Magri could land heat two with Zipping Sako, a litter brother to Zipping Ruger.

Zipping Sako has box eight and won in 29.72 from that draw at WP on June 25 before again comfortably handling a wide alley with a smart 29.55 win from box seven a week later.

Zipping Sako was beaten 10 lengths by Zipping Ruger when second, from box four, in a smart 29.52 at WP last Thursday but should have finished much closer.

"He got checked going through the catching pen and then was badly hampered on the back straight so his run was very good,'' trainer Jason Magri said.

There are few more exciting greyhounds to watch than Reborn Hostility, who invariably comes from last to win or be placed in her races.

Reborn Hostility came from the back of the field to easily beat Canya Sapphire in a 520m top grade race at WP last Thursday and meets almost identical class in this week's Mark Hughes Foundation Free-For-All.

Reborn Hostility had box two last week and although she is not as well positioned in box eight on Thursday, trainer Daniel Gatt believes the small field of six gives her a great chance of notching her ninth WP win.

"I put her current good form down to her love of Wentworth Park,'' Daniel Gatt said.

"Reborn Hostility has always shown a liking for Wenty and I think the noisy lure there suits her.

"With a greyhound like Reborn Hostility, who drops out early, you always need a bit of luck in running, but lately she seems to have worked out how to make her own good luck.''

Best graded greyhound on Thursday is Fantastic Iris, who has won three 520m races at WP.

Fantastic Iris is well drawn in box two in the Wenty Leagues Masters Stakes and looks thrown in considering her six rivals have won just two WP races between them.
