Eriza Sparkles, who became the fastest female greyhound to race at Wentworth Park when she clocked 29.17 in a Million Dollar Chase semi-final on Ocotber 10, returns to headquarters in Saturday night's Get Trackside fourth and fifth grade 520m.
The group one Dapto Megastar winner has been campaigning in Queensland where she finished fourth in a Brisbane Cup heat and a luckless seventh in the Cup Consolation final on July 11.
Eriza Sparkles was given a "pipe opener" over 400m at Bulli on Monday when she clocked a fast 22.08 in finishing second to Zipper On Time.
Trainer Steve Fitch said: "Eriza Sparkles is being set for the National Sprint Championship and while I don't think she is ready to run 29.17 again I believe she can get down to 29.50 with a clear run on Saturday night.
"It looks a winnable race for her and I'm satisfied with her draw, even though she has never won at Wenty from box one or two.''
Fitch is also heading to WP with Cumbria Chrissy, the group two Richmond Oaks winning sister to his recently retired champion Cumbria Jack, and Gramercy Beat, a litter brother to Eriza Sparkles.
Cumbria Chrissy has box five in the 520m gapnsw.com.au fifth grade while Gramercy Beat will exit box three in the 520m Sponsor A Race fifth grade.
"Cumbria Chrissy has played second fiddle to her brother but she made the Ipswich Cup final and was runner-up in a Brisbane Cup Prelude as well as winning the Richmond Oaks,'' Steve Fitch said.
"She is going well since returning from her Brisbane campaign and was a good second over 400m at Bulli on Monday.
"Gramercy Beat had not seen WP when before finishing third there on June 6 so that was a good effort and he recorded a flying 29.37 over 520m at Nowra on May 28.''
Digger Sure Can has a reputation of being a middle to wide runner but trainer Jason Mackay is happy with his dog's box one draw in Saturday's Wenty Leagues Stakes, a 520m fifth grade.
Digger Sure Can has been in great form at Maitland and rocketed over the 450m trip winning there on Monday in 24.88, just .33sec outside the track record figures.
Trainer Jason Mackay said: "Early days he definitely wanted an outside box but recently he has been running straight from the boxes to the turn.
"A few months ago I would have said he wants middle to wide but I think he will hold his line when he jumps from box one on Saturday night.''
Sammy Ethan might live in the shadow of his illustrious WP track record smashing kennelmate Jungle Johnny, but the Mark Gatt-trained fan favourite can win Saturday's final event, thedogs.com.au Masters, where he be lining up to compete for the 100th time.
Sammy Ethan has won 28 races, all at WP, and trainer Mark Gatt is pleased with his dog's box five draw this week.
"For some reason, every time Sammy Ethan has drawn box five, he has nailed the start,'' Gatt said.
Sammy Ethan has only four rivals but does not have to make the pace to win.
Unleash In Miami (box two) and Speedy Pie (box seven) are noted front-runners, but they could have their work cut out beating Fascinate Kath (box one) to the first bend.
Fascinate Kath has had just one win, along with 20 placings, from 49 WP appearances, but she invariably begins quickly and is disputing the lead in the early stages.0
Best bet on Saturday should be Dennis Keeping, who clocked 29.36 winning from box six at WP last Saturday and who has the same draw in this week's top grade 520m Mark Hughes Foundation Stakes.
There is abundant early pace among dogs drawn near the rails and Dennis Keeping could get a clear run down the outside of the field in the rush to the first corner.
