Winsome Jet only turned two in February but the Minnie Finn-trained dog has already earned $442,000 and returns to Wentworth Park for Thursday night's Life Member Barry Colless Free-For-All over 520m.
Winsome Jet has box four but his trainer said "He is drawn okay, I don't mind him in the middle and he has an empty box on his left.''
Winsome Jet has already qualified for the October 9 semi-finals of the Ladbrokes Million Dollar Chase and is back in Sydney after a marvelous interstate campaign.
Under caretaker trainer Michelle Sultana, Winsome Jet was sensational in Brisbane, winning the State Of Origin and Queensland Derby as well as breaking the 457m record at The Q.
He then finished second to Wrongly Accused in the National Sprint Championship at Sandown on August 29.
"He came home to me after Sandown and his successes were not surprising, he has always been a fast dog.'' Minnie Finn said.
Finn's son Todd Barnes thought highly enough of Dollar Keeping to start him in the group one Vic Peters Classic series at Wentworth Park in June and while the dog finished seventh in Retaliation's heat, he drops sharply in class on Thursday night.
Dollar Keeping has box three in the 52m fifth grade We Stand With Tasmania Stakes and Minnie Finn said "At his last start a week ago he won by a dozen lengths over 520m at Richmond.”
"If he repeats that performance he should be winning on Thursday.''
Dollar Keeping covered the 520m at Richmond in 29.66, just .06sec outside the fastest time of the meeting.
Todd Barnes also has Not Our Fault in the 520m fifth grade Life Member George Hayes Stakes, and Finn believes his box eight draw gives him a chance.
Not Our Fault tends to be slow early and has won only two of 16 Wentworth Park appearances, but Finn said ''He is perfectly drawn this week.''
Zipping Silas has been placed in one of two Wentworth Park outings and gets his chance to break through after drawing box one in the 520m fifth grade Wenty Leagues Stakes.
Trainer Daniel Gatt said "Because he has had only three starts, I'm still working him out but I think Zipping Silas will be suited by the rails draw.
"He is over 37kg and is a big, clumsy sort of dog, so as long as he uses the inside alley properly, he should go close.”
"Zipping Silas is no super star but this looks a winnable race.''
Daniel Gatt has a high opinion of Bull Market, who has box four against Not Our Fault and Zhang (box one) in the Life Member George Hayes 520m fifth grade.
"Bull Market is very honest and consistent, he nearly always wins or runs second so we can't ask much more than that,.' Gatt said.
Bull Market's 13 races have all been at Wentworth Park, where he has scored five wins and five seconds, boasting a personal best time of 29.48, quickest in Thursday's race.
Best bet on Thursday has to be Stilton Shine in the 720m Life Member Murray Buffolin fifth grade, but she will be at a long odds-on price.
Stilton Shine has registered two wins and three placings from six Wentworth Park 720m assignments and was unlucky when second, from box five, to her talented Jodie Lord-trained kennelmate Sin City Bandit at Wentworth Park last Thursday.
