Bull Market Gets Box One Boost

BULL Market has been costly to punters from middle draws at his past three Wentworth Park starts but a shift to box one in Thursday's We Stand With Tasmania 520m fifth grade should put him back into the winner's circle.

The Daniel Gatt-trained dog finished second, third and fourth from boxes four and five in three outings in September but clocked his equal fastest Wentworth Park time of 29.48 when he won from box one on July 23.

And in three appearances from box two Bull Market is undefeated, winning in 29.48 before scoring in 29.74 and 29.68, suggesting he is far better when positioned near the inside.

In Thursday's race, Bull Market's quickest Wentworth Park rival is Regal Kade, who won in 29.72 last Saturday night.

Daniel Gatt looks set for a successful night on Thursday with Bull Market's kennelmates Stay Amazing (box four, GBOTA Staff Appreciation Stakes) and Zipping Zephyr (box six, gapnsw.com.au Stakes) also having great chances.

Stay Amazing has drawn poorly in each of her four races but did clock a slick 29.52 when winning while wearing the blue rug on September 3 at Wentworth Park.

She was desperately unlucky when fourth, beaten less than two lengths, from box six at Wentworth Park last Saturday.

In that race Stay Amazing was a close third at the first turn but was badly checked by a wide running rival and was six lengths behind the leader approaching the home turn.

Zipping Zephyr should be suited by his wide draw on Thursday as he ran off and collided at the first turn before winning a maiden race in 30.09 from box one at Wentworth Park on September 12.

After a bad getaway and suffering severe early interference Zipping Zephyr was a good fourth, from box five, at Wentworth Park last Thursday night.

Daniel Gatt's brother Mark Gatt has only one runner on Thursday but would be happy with He's Me Bowler's box two draw in a 1-4 Win 520m fifth grade.

He's Me Bowler had box six when he led throughout on debut at Wentworth Park last Thursday night but crossed sharply towards the rails when he left the starting traps.

That indicates the dog will relish having an inside alley this week.

Shiruku, a brilliant winner of four of her six provincial starts, makes her keenly anticipated first Wentworth Park appearance in another 1-4 Win 520m fifth grade on Thursday night.

Trainer Ian Forno has given Shiruku plenty of Wentworth Park experience on trial nights and at her most recent hit-out there she got well under 24sec in a post-to-post slip, figures that usually only top graders can post.

Shiruku has box six on Thursday but Forno said, "The draw shouldn't worry her because she won't 'crash' towards the rails, she will stay in her lane.”

"Shiruku tends to run in line with the lure and while she is not a dazzling beginner she does have great turn of foot when she hits the ground.''

Dennis Keeping, minor placegetter in last Saturday's group two Black Top final at The Gardens, will be favourite for Thursday's Mark Hughes Foundation top grade 520m event but will need luck from his awkward box five draw.

Isle Of Lachlan, who has box four, possesses good early pace and at his only Wentworth Park appearance he ran very wide on the first corner.

Zipping Jamal missed a place for the first time at Wentworth Park when fifth last Thursday night but he can atone in this week's 1-4 Win fifth grade, 520m.

Zipping Jamal boasts the quickest Wentworth Park figures of 29.80 in this week's race and he recorded that time from box two, his draw on Thursday.

At his most recent Wenty outing this hefty 34.5kg dog had box seven and was unlucky when fifth to Speedy Zipper, beaten five lengths.

In that race Zipping Jamal, trained by Minnie Finn and a kennelmate of the Black Top winner Hey Arnold, was last out and was skittled at the first bend, losing all chance.
