It may be only a $4,475 to the winner top grade at Wentworth Park but Thursday night's Mark Hughes Foundation has attracted a Golden Easter Egg class field, headed by the flying Honk Honk.

The Tony Mason-trained bitch, the fastest female to race at Wentworth Park with a personal best time of 29.19, has box one in the 520m event.

An unexpected error occurred.

But she can't afford any mistakes with the likes of Summer Quinn, Speedy Pie, Overflow Beau, Sooty Keeping and Still Available among the opposition.

That quintet have won a total of 37 races with best times ranging from Overflow Beau's 29.35 to Speedy Pie's 29.62.

Honk Honk posted her 29.19 figures from box seven on March 8 and was far from disgraced when second behind Taormina at her most recent Wentworth Park appearance on July 19.

And she has gone brilliantly in her only trial since that race.

"I gave her a 350m slip at Maitland and she flew, she broke her own track record,'' trainer Tony Mason said.

"Apart from a plenty of free galloping that is all she has done because I like to keep her fresh.

"She is naturally strong at the end of 520m so doesn't need a lot of trialling between races.

"Honk Honk clocked her fastest time from box seven and because she has drawn that box several times lately she has become used to racing from wide draws.

"But she is a natural railer and although box one at Wenty can be a bit funny, she is a natural railer so is well drawn.''

Honk Honk won from box one at Wentworth Park in January, recording a smart 29.59.

Her toughest rival on Thursday could be Overflow Beau, despite his fourth placings at Dubbo and Grafton at his two latest outings.

Trainer Craig Chappelow said: "Overflow Beau has had a couple of setbacks lately but is good to go on Thursday.

"Box five is a bit of a worry but he trialled very well after the last race at Wentworth Park last Saturday night, getting under the 29.60 mark for 520m.''

Overflow Beau

An even brighter prospect for Chappelow on Thursday night looks to be Prowess, who has box one in the Ladbrokes Mates Mode Pots 1-3 wins 720m mixed stakes.

With a personal best Wentworth Park 720m time of 42.39, Prowess is clearly the quickest in the race over the long distance trip and according to her trainer is perfectly drawn.

An unexpected error occurred.

"Box one is where she wants to be,'' Craig Chappelow said.

"I don't think Prowess can go much quicker than 42.39 but that might be good enough to win this race.

"She has come a long way since she was getting beaten in 520m maiden races at Wentworth Park and she has gained a lot of confidence since being stepped up to longer distances.''

Best Surprise has been beaten in five races since winning from box one in 30.01 at Wentworth Park on June 5 but is ready to win again on Thursday night.

Best Surprise has box two in the the 520m fifth grade Ladbrokes Fast Withdrawals Stakes and trainer Andrew Rose is quietly confident.

An unexpected error occurred.

"She had been getting knocked around in harder races at Wentworth Park so I gave her a couple of weeks off and brought her back at Dapto last Thursday, where she finished a solid third,'' Rowe said.

"Best Surprise is going as well now as she was when she clocked 29.87 from box two at Wentworth Park on May 15 and has the same good draw on Thursday.''

Apart from the top grade 520m race, Thursday night's highlight should be the clash of Suribachi, Zig Zag Man and the improving Glitzy Ethics in the 720m Ladbrokes Same Race Multi fourth and fifth grade.

An unexpected error occurred.

Suribachi is drawn ideally in box one, Glitzy Ethics was beaten less than four lenghs when second to the exciting Firethorn at Wentworth Park last Saturday, and Zig Zag Man is coming off a near record 622m win at Richmond last Friday night.
