Classy Bandit has been beaten in eight races since winning at Wentworth Park in February but has the perfect draw in Thursday night's Get Trackside Stakes at headquarters.

The Jodie Lord-trained bitch has box one in the 520m fifth grade where none of her six rivals has equalled her personal best Wentworth Park figures of 29.42.

Jodie Lord's husband Andy said: "Classy Bandit has got her box on Thursday and she always puts in, she is a very keen chaser.

"She had box eight when she finished fourth to her kennelmate Fearless Bandit in 29.40 at Wenty last Thursday but her run was terrific.

"She missed the kick from the extreme outside draw but after showing good speed to the first turn she was checked by another dog on her left which wanted to get off the track.''

Classy Bandit's litter sister Magic Bandit will also wear the red rug when she steps out in Thursday's Group 3 Racing May 2 Stakes, the top grade 520m event of the meeting.

Magic Bandit recorded her fastest Wentworth Park 520m time of 29.48 when she was a strong finishing second to Fearless Bandit last Thursday.

"She had box seven in that race but like her sister Classy Bandit, Magic Bandit is far better positioned in box one,'' Andy Lord said.

"Jodie and I also have She's Fearless in box four in Magic Bandit's race and if we were to trial them two-out She's Fearless would probably beat her.

"Although her best Wentworth Park time is 29.54 she is a slightly faster bitch but she has box four on Thursday and runs wide so the draw definitely favours Magic Bandit.''

Magic Bandit seems assured of a clear run to the first bend as Cold Cold Night, who has box two, is usually a fast beginner who tends to race in the middle of the track.

Saint Rico has not won a race since scoring at Dapto 12 months ago but he gets his chance to return to the winning list in Thursday night's Masters M3 520m race at Wentworth Park.

Saint Rico only became eligible for Masters class when he turned four on January 14 and has been placed in one of four veterans' events.

But these provincial races were on 324m, 350m and 400m and Saint Rico is much better suited over the 520m Wentworth Park trip.

Saint Rico clocked his fastest Wentworth Park time of 29.60 when he exited box seven in May, 2024, while none of his opponents on Thursday has broken 30sec for the same journey.

Charlie Gatt, trainer of Saint Rico, said: "He wouldn't be capable of running 29.60 now but I think he is going well enough to clock around 30 seconds flat with a clear run on Thursday.

"I took him back to Wentworth Park on Monday night and gave him a box-to-box trial and while he only recorded 18.15 I think that could be good enough for him to win this week.''

Billy Ray's Girl has won four races at Wentworth Park against her six opponents' combined total of just a single win so she looks well placed in Thursday night's Farrell's 4x2 fifth grade over 520m.

Billy Ray's Girl's last  win was on  March 12 when she came from a distant fourth at the half-way mark to win in 29.80, with her vanquished opponents including last Saturday's Wentworth Park winners Reborn Hostility and Elle's Moon.

The Vic Sultana-trained bitch had gone even faster at Wentworth Park in early February when she recorded 29.73 and on times at the track she has the equivalent of nearly four lengths on her six rivals this week.
