Peter Lagogiane has trained the winners of three from the past five Ladies Bracelets and is banking on Magical Ang and Juniper Rose reaching the 2026 final by qualifying in their heats of the Group 3 event at Wentworth Park on Saturday night.

Lagogiane won the 2021 and 2022 Bracelet finals with Pay Call and French Martini, before taking out last year's event with She's That Girl.

On Saturday he has the former Queenslander and Wentworth Park newcomer Juniper Rose in heat one and Magical Ang, a winner of seven from 15 Wenty appearances, in heat two.

Lagogiane said: "Juniper Rose has had a couple of trials at Wentworth Park and has gone really well so although she has box six I'm happy with her."

"Magical Ang has also drawn awkwardly in box five but came off box seven to win at Wentworth Park last week and that was a tough effort.

"Magical Ang is a front-runner who has won most of her races by making the pace so to come from behind, after being badly hampered at the first turn last week, was very encouraging.

"And she has thrived at home this week.''

Hardest for Magical Ang to beat could be My Bread Roll, who is ideally positioned in box one.

My Bread Roll's trainer Sue Smith also has My Cupcake in heat one and My Monroe in heat three.

My Monroe has won five Wentworth Park races against My Bread Roll's three wins but Smith said: "My Bread Roll is probably going slightly better than My Monroe at the moment.

"They are both ideally boxed but they need to begin smartly, if they miss the start the box won't help them.''

My Bread Roll led all the way in near record time over 431m at Gunnedah on April 18 and should get a clear run to the first turn courtesy of the speedy Fascinate Suzie, who is likely to get wide from box two.

My Monroe also has a wide runner outside her, with Elsa Above in box two, but she faces stern opposition from Zipping Ariel, resuming after a spell.

Zipping Ariel broke down at Wentworth Park on March 28 but has made an amazing recovery and her trainer Courtney Barnes said: "She is going well again and trialled smartly over 520m at Richmond in her latest hit-out.''

Zipping Ariel has won eight races at Wentworth Park and none of her rivals on Saturday has equalled her fastest time at the track, a 29.44 effort from box two last October.

No trainer places his greyhounds more astutely than Mark Gatt which is why he has Ritza Ringer, a winner of six races at headquarters, set to exit box one in Saturday's fifth grade Wentworth Park Sports Bar Stakes.

Of Ritza Ringer's seven rivals, only I'll See is a Wenty winner, boasting just one win from seven outings.

Gatt said: "Ritza Ringer certainly looks well placed on Saturday.

"I was a little disappointed with his fourth at Wentworth Park last Saturday night but if he repeats the way he went there at his two previous runs on the track, when he won from box one on April 2 and 9, he should go close to winning.

"He drove up hard when he won those races.''

Gatt also has Sammy Ethan in heat one of the Bob Payne Sprint on Saturday and that dog has won 24 races at Wentworth Park.

Due to Gatt's clever placing of Sammy Ethan, the dog was still eligible for a fifth grade after scoring 21 wins at the track.

"I'm no genius, it's just about not burning a dog's fifth grades by starting them on a Saturday night too early,'' he said.

"It's not rocket science, I just use up their grades at Wenty's Thursday night provincial class meetings before stepping them up to Saturday night racing.''
