Eddie Foyle, who bred the champion bitch Sooty Keeping, will be back at Wentworth Park on Saturday night hoping to land a 16th win with the National Sprint Championship finalist's litter sister Rema's Amethyst.

Rema's Amethyst has box four in the Mark Hughes Foundation fourth and fifth grade 520m event.

Foyle bred Sooty Keeping from the mating of his brood bitch Rema's Jade with Feral Franky but presented her to his niece, Dubbo owner-trainer Charmaine Roberts.

"When Rema's Jade was in pup, I told Charmaine I was on a house block and could not look after a lot of puppies,'' Foyle recalled.

"So we did a deal, and after Rema's Jade had seven pups, I gave four to Charmaine while I kept three, and in return, she undertook to raise the entire litter."

"Sooty Keeping, who is the NSW representative in the National Sprint Championship in Brisbane on August 30, was one of the puppies Charmaine received, but luckily, I finished up with Rema's Amethyst.

"I'm just glad I didn't give her to Charmaine as well as part of our agreement.

"Since she last raced on August 13, I have given Rema's Amethyst a bit of a break, but she is ready to go on Saturday night.

"She has had plenty of slipping, and while she usually only begins on terms with her rivals, she puts her feet down quickly when she hits the ground.''

Rema's Amethyst's main rival on Saturday looms as Tracker, who is perfectly drawn in box eight according to trainer Jason Mackay,

"Tracker's problem is that he is a clumsy beginner,'' Mackay said.

''He has a great chance on Saturday but he needs to get the start right, certainly a lot better than he did at Wentworth Park last week when he came out last and finished second, beaten less than a length.

"I'm hoping on Saturday that Great Flash, who has box seven and can show early pace, can give Tracker a cart cross in the run to the first turn.''

Taw Commander's owner-trainer Andrew Rowe is jubilant at seeing his dog in box one when he makes his debut as a "Masters greyhound'' on Saturday night.

Taw Commander will wear the red rug in the Ladbrokes Srm In Multi veterans' 520m event for first, second and third graders.

"My dog just hasn't been able to match it with his younger opponents in the past couple of weeks,'' trainer Rowe said.

"But he is still going well, and on Saturday night he is drawn where he wants to be.

"Taw Commander's best time at Wentworth Park is 29.72 but while he has probably lost a tenth of a second or two with age, I think he is still capable of clocking 29.90 on Saturday night.''

Glitzy Ethics, who won over 720m at Wentworth Park on July 17 before finishing second to boom stayer Firethorn there on July 26, reverts to 520m racing at headquarters on Saturday night.

Glitzy Ethics has box seven in the 520m fifth grade The Gillogy Muffin Union Stakes, and trainer David Smith believes she will sprint well fresh.

"She hurt a toe at her last 720m Wentworth Park race but I nominated her for a shorter event this week banking on it only attracting a small field,'' Smith said.

"It worked out well and with box seven, and just six runners with box six empty, Glitzy Ethics gets her chance.''

Smith has five runners on Saturday, but with Mustang Ethics, Foxtrot Ethics and Calypso Ethics drawn wide, he believes his other good chance is Epic Story, who has box one against Rema's Amethyst and Tracker in the Mark Hughes Foundation Stakes.

"Epic Story had no luck when fourth to Trunkey Chief from box five at Wentworth Park last Saturday and box one puts him in this race with a chance,'' Smith said.

"Unfortunately, Mustang Ethics, Foxtrot Ethics and Calypso Ethics face a tough task as they are all desperate for an inside box.''

Saturday night also features a return clash, in the 720m The Lids Fly On Ladbrokes Live Channels Stakes, of NSW National Distance Championship winner Lady Wilson (box four) against that event's runner-up Late Night News, in box one.
