GRNSW News
In November last year, Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) announced a commitment of $2 million in additional prizemoney for 2026-27.

The first of these increases came on January 1, 2026 when $350,000 was added to country class racing from that date until June 30, 2026.

This increase resulted in maiden racing increasing by 30% and other country grades increasing from 23% and upwards (previous country maiden prizemoney was $845 per race and increased to $1,100 per race while country 5th grade racing increased from $1,095 per race to $1,350 per race).

The additional $1.65 million in prizemoney came into effect today, July 1, 2026 and will be distributed through to 30 June 2027.

That $1.65 million encompasses an increase in minimum stakes level prizemoney for Group and Listed Races as determined by Greyhound Clubs Australia. This increase translates to more than an additional $560,000 into Group and Listed races, commencing this Saturday with the Vic Peters Classic and Peter Mosman Opal carrying $100,000 first prizemoney, up 25%.

The remaining $1.09 million will be distributed through all provincial and city prizemoney increases of $100 per race, allocated by an increase $25 for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th placings on all races over more than 421m, while the commitment to the increase in country class prizemoney remains in place with the prizemoney increases totalling more than $560,000 through to 2027.

GRNSW continues its commitment to the industry by meeting all minimum prizemoney at all sectors of racing, in addition to contributions to Group and Feature racing and these increase in prizemoney levels.

All these new increases take effect from today.

The new prizemoney schedule which has commenced today, can be found on the GRNSW website: www.grnsw.com.au/racing/prizemoney
